Miniature Dachshund Puppies for Sale in Florida

Families looking at Miniature Dachshund puppies for sale in Florida can reserve one straight from The Puppy Lodge, a program the Nisley family has run for more than thirteen years on a five acre farm in Fresno, Ohio. Our mini doxies mature at roughly eight to eleven pounds, with the bold and curious personality the breed is known for in a lap sized package. Every puppy goes home vet checked, microchipped, current on vaccinations and dewormings, and covered by a written three year health guarantee. The complete terms live on our health guarantee page.

Florida sits well south of us. The drive is around twelve hours to the Panhandle and closer to nineteen by the time you reach South Florida, so very few of our Florida families make the trip themselves. Most have us bring the puppy to the door by van or fly one down with a nanny.

Our Available Miniature Dachshund Puppies

Everything currently available is listed below with photos, pricing, and a reserve button. Puppies are sold on the site, so you can pick one, place a $200 deposit, and finish the paperwork online without a phone call first. That deposit is non refundable but transfers to another available puppy if you change your mind. We also post upcoming litters ahead of time, which lets you claim a pick before the puppies are born. Financing runs through Credova and can be applied for online, and we are happy to do a FaceTime call so you can see a puppy move around before you commit.

There is no waitlist here. Reservations tend to happen within a day of a puppy going up, so timing is most of it. Once yours is reserved we set up a call to sort out how it gets to Florida. If you are still weighing the breed, our Miniature Dachshund temperament and care guide goes deeper on what living with one is actually like.

Miniature Dachshund Delivery to Florida: Van, Flight Nanny, or Farm Pickup

Ground delivery is what most Florida families choose. Every van goes out with two drivers aboard, which means no puppy is sitting alone in a parked vehicle. Each puppy has its own carrier, the van stays climate controlled, a vet signs off before departure, and updates come through along the way. Florida falls in our regional pricing tier, so the fee is a flat $350 whether you are in Pensacola or Key Largo. Vans pull out of Ohio on Tuesday mornings, and a Florida route generally takes two to three days on the road depending on where the other stops fall.

Flight nanny is the faster option. A flight nanny is a person, not a service. She has a seat of her own, watches the carrier the whole way, and meets you at baggage claim, usually the same day the puppy leaves Ohio. Your puppy is never in cargo. Nannies fly into Orlando International, Tampa International, Miami International, Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International, Jacksonville International, and Southwest Florida International in Fort Myers. The puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under twenty pounds including the carrier, and traveling with a health certificate from a licensed vet. A mini dachshund clears the weight limit easily and fits an under seat carrier with room to stretch. Flight nanny is quoted per flight and costs more than the van, and weather can push a flight, so a little schedule flexibility helps.

In person pickup at the Fresno farm is open to anyone by appointment. You get to meet the puppy's mother, walk the kennel, and go through the vaccination records and health guarantee in person before you leave with a bag of food and a blanket that smells like where it came from. For most of Florida that is a long drive each way, so it usually only makes sense if you are already heading north.

Our recommendation for most of Florida is the van. The flat regional rate makes it the better value across a state this long, and the puppy stays in one climate controlled space the whole way instead of moving through terminals. If you live close to Orlando, Tampa, or Miami and want the puppy home in a single day, the flight nanny is worth the extra cost. One Florida note if you are collecting the puppy yourself or meeting a nanny: park in the shade and have water and a carrier waiting in the car, since a young dachshund with a belly that rides low to the ground heats up fast on hot pavement.

About Our Miniature Dachshund Puppy Breeder Program Serving Florida

We are eight hundred to twelve hundred miles from most of Florida, so the reason to buy from us rather than someone an hour down I-75 comes down to what stands behind the puppy. The Puppy Lodge owns every parent dog, and each one is genetically and health tested and picked for temperament, pedigree, and color genetics before it is ever bred. Litters are raised across a small closed network of kennels near our farm by breeders who work only with our dogs and follow the same testing and raising standards. The vet from Danville Veterinary Clinic comes through weekly to check the adults and every new litter.

With this breed we pay particular attention to structure. Spinal soundness factors into which dogs get paired, since the long back is the part of a dachshund that needs protecting for life. The ENS protocol starts on day three and finishes on day sixteen. Daily handling from our children picks up from there, along with potty and crate work before the puppy goes home. The three year health guarantee follows the puppy to Florida the same as it would down the road from us.

Miniature Dachshund FAQs Of Florida Families

Q: How much is a Miniature Dachshund puppy delivered to Florida?

A: Puppies start at $1,495 and run to about $2,995 depending on color, coat type, genetics, and sex. Ground delivery anywhere in Florida is a flat $350, and a flight nanny is quoted per flight based on the route. A $200 deposit holds the puppy, and financing through Credova is available if you would rather spread the cost out.

Q: How do Miniature Dachshunds handle Florida heat and humidity?

A: They do fine with sensible timing. Walk in the early morning and after sunset, and press the back of your hand to the sidewalk first, because a dachshund carries its chest and belly only a few inches off the ground and takes on radiant heat faster than a taller dog. Save the middle of the day for indoor play and puzzle toys, which tire this breed out anyway. Longhaired mini doxies do not need shaving for the climate, just regular brushing so the coat stays open and airy.

Q: Are Miniature Dachshunds safe around a swimming pool?

A: Treat every pool as something to manage. The long body, deep chest, and short legs make swimming hard work for them, and a dachshund that falls in can tire before it finds the steps. Fence or cover the pool, add a visible ramp or set of pet steps, and show the puppy where the exit is more than once. Supervision is the part that matters most while they are young.

Q: What should I know about back problems in this breed?

A: Intervertebral disc disease is the health topic that matters most for dachshunds, and the long spine is why. We screen parent dogs and select for sound structure, which reduces the likelihood in their puppies, though no breeder can rule the risk out entirely. Day to day, keeping your dog lean is the single biggest thing you control, along with a ramp for the couch and bed, a harness instead of a collar on walks, and limiting stairs, which is worth planning for in the raised coastal homes so common here. Until the first birthday, keep exercise short and steady rather than long and repetitive.

Q: Will a mini dachshund be happy in a condo or a 55 plus community?

A: Yes, and this breed suits both well. They need thirty to sixty minutes of activity a day, which flat Florida sidewalks and neighborhood loops handle nicely, and they are content to nap the rest of the time. Barking is the one thing to stay ahead of with shared walls. A predictable routine, daily walks, something to chew, and never rewarding a barking spell with attention keep the volume manageable from the first week on.

Q: Can I see the puppy before it travels to Florida?

A: You can. We do FaceTime calls before you reserve so you can watch the puppy move and interact, and we send photos as it grows. Visits to the farm are welcome by appointment Monday through Saturday if you would rather meet the puppy and its mother in person. Call or text us at 330-790-5007 with any questions about a specific puppy or about getting one home to Florida.
