Reputable Mini Doxiedoodle Breeder Serving Granite City, IL

One of the things that makes Mini Doxiedoodle puppies for sale in Granite City, Illinois such a good fit for this climate is how entertaining they are during the indoor months. The Dachshund personality in this cross is what carries the winter. They burrow into blankets, steal the warm spot on the couch, carry toys around the house like they're on a mission, and make faces that look like they have opinions about everything. That entertainment value doesn't dim when the outdoor time decreases. If anything, the extra indoor time in winter gives you more chances to appreciate how funny this breed is up close. The Poodle's intelligence, on top of that, means they're always figuring something out, which keeps things interesting in a way that a less clever dog doesn't. Summer through fall is outdoor fun. Winter is an indoor comedy with a smart, bold little dog. Health and genetic testing, ENS, Purdue University certification, and a 3-year health guarantee come standard with every puppy. We deliver through flight nannies to your local airport, ground delivery right to your door, or pickup at our farm.

Why Granite City Families Choose The Puppy Lodge for Their Mini Doxiedoodle

When you’re buying a designer breed like the Mini Doxiedoodle, knowing where both sides of the cross come from is everything. A lot of breeders producing Dachshund-Poodle mixes are working with parent dogs they don’t know much about. We raise both Miniature Dachshunds and Miniature Poodles ourselves, so we know the health, temperament, and genetics on both sides of every litter. All of our parent dogs are healthy and genetically tested. That means we can tell you exactly what to expect from your puppy, which is rare with a cross that can be unpredictable when the breeding isn’t done right.

Mini Doxiedoodles are smart, affectionate dogs that pick up on everything around them. That intelligence needs to be put to work early with socialization and positive interaction, or it can turn into boredom and possible bad habits. Our kids are in with the puppies every day from the time they’re born, playing with them and getting them used to being handled by people of all ages. We’re a family of nine with over 13 years of experience raising puppies, and that gives every puppy a head start on life in a real family environment. Every puppy also undergoes Early Neurological Stimulation between days 3 and 16, which builds stronger cardiovascular development, stress tolerance, and immune response before they ever leave our farm.

Our puppies are raised in our climate-controlled kennel, with heated tile floors in winter and geothermal cooling in summer. Our adults and puppies have access to large outdoor play areas on our five-acre farm in Central Ohio. We’re certified through the Purdue University Canine Care Program, one of the few breeders in the country to hold that distinction, and our vet at Danville Veterinary Clinic visits every week. We stand behind every puppy with a 3-year health guarantee. Every puppy comes up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, and with a blanket carrying mom’s scent. We welcome visitors by appointment and deliver puppies nationwide right to your door.

About Mini Doxiedoodles

The Mini Doxiedoodle is a designer breed created by crossing a Miniature Dachshund with a Miniature Poodle. You may also see this mix referred to as a Doxiepoo, Doxipoo, Dachdoodle, or Dachshundoodle. This is a relatively new crossbreed that started gaining popularity in the United States in the early 2000s as part of the growing interest in Poodle mixes, prized for combining the Poodle’s intelligence and low shedding coat with the traits of other popular breeds. Mini Doxiedoodles are small dogs that typically weigh 10 to 20 pounds and stand 8 to 12 inches tall at the shoulder, though size can vary depending on the individual parents. Their appearance is one of the more unpredictable things about the mix. They may inherit the Dachshund’s longer body and shorter legs, the Poodle’s more proportional build, or something in between, and even puppies within the same litter can look quite different from one another. Their coat is usually wavy to curly, thanks to the Poodle influence, and tends to be low shedding, which makes them a good option for families looking for a more allergy friendly dog. Regular coat brushing several times a week and professional grooming around every six to eight weeks will keep their coat in good shape. In terms of personality, Mini Doxiedoodles are smart, affectionate, and full of character. They bond closely with their families and love being involved in whatever is going on around them. They are playful and social and usually do well with children and other pets when socialized early. They inherit intelligence from both parent breeds and learn really quickly, though the Dachshund side can bring a touch of stubbornness, so consistent positive reinforcement training from a young age works best. They can be vocal and make surprisingly alert little watchdogs despite their size. Mini Doxiedoodles have moderate energy levels and need about 30 to 45 minutes of basic exercise daily, including walks and playtime, along with some basic mental stimulation to keep them happy and out of trouble. Their compact size and adaptable nature make them well suited for apartments and smaller homes as well as larger spaces. With proper care, exercise, a balanced diet, and regular vet visits, Mini Doxiedoodles typically live 12 to 15 years.

A slicker brush two to three times a week and a groomer every four to six weeks. Our breed guide lays out the full grooming schedule by coat type so you know exactly what to expect. Extreme summer heat or winter storms can occasionally delay delivery by a day or two. We always prioritize your puppy's safety over the schedule, and our delivery guide explains how we handle weather-related adjustments. Holding an exercise longer than five seconds or repeating the session twice in one day can actually harm development instead of helping it. Our guide explains the science behind that threshold and why the protocol demands precision.
