Mini Doxiedoodle Puppies for Sale in Iowa

If you have been looking for Mini Doxiedoodle puppies for sale in Iowa, our puppies come from The Puppy Lodge, a family run program based on a five acre farm in Fresno, Ohio. Iowa sits roughly 10 to 14 hours west of us, with the Mississippi River side of the state closer than Council Bluffs or Sioux City out west. Every puppy leaves from Ohio, and we handle the trip to Iowa for you.

A Mini Doxiedoodle is a Miniature Dachshund crossed with a Miniature Poodle. Ours grow to about 8 to 12 inches tall and 10 to 20 pounds, with a wavy to curly coat that sheds very little. They are smart, affectionate dogs that bond hard to their people and are happy to tell you when someone pulls into the driveway. The size works well in a Des Moines apartment or on an acreage outside Ames, since 30 to 45 minutes of walking and play a day covers their exercise.

Available Mini Doxiedoodle Puppies

The puppies listed here are the ones ready to reserve today. Each one has been vet checked by Danville Veterinary Clinic, microchipped, and kept current on vaccinations and dewormings, and each goes home at eight weeks or older with a written three year health guarantee, registration papers, a bag of the food they have been eating, and a blanket that carries their mother's scent.

Reserving is done right here on the site with a $200 deposit, which is non refundable but transfers to another available puppy if plans change. Prices run from $1,495 to $2,995 depending on coat type, color, and gender, and financing is available through Credova. We do not keep a waitlist, so a puppy you like can be claimed by another family the same day. If nothing here is the right fit, we post upcoming litters for reservation and send our newsletter out whenever a new litter becomes available. FaceTime calls are open before you commit to anything, and once your puppy is reserved we call to sort out how they get to Iowa.

Miniature Doxiedoodle puppy delivery in Iowa

Puppy Delivery to Iowa

We use three ways of getting a puppy home, and we settle on one during a phone call after your reservation goes through rather than at checkout.

Home delivery by ground is our most popular choice and the one most Iowa families end up picking. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, with an individual carrier, a vet check before the trip, and updates along the way. The fee to Iowa is usually around $450, and the run out to you generally takes a day or two depending on where in the state you live and how the route is scheduled. Nobody has to drive to an airport.

Flight nanny is the faster option and is almost always finished the same day. A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin next to them, never in cargo, and hands the puppy over to you at baggage claim. Des Moines International Airport and The Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids are the two we book most often for Iowa families, and Sioux Gateway Airport works for the northwest corner. Flight nanny is quoted per flight and costs more than ground. Your puppy needs to be at least eight weeks old, under 20 pounds with the carrier, and travel with a health certificate we arrange beforehand. Mini Doxiedoodles clear that weight limit easily at go home age, and because they do not have the short flat muzzle that some airlines restrict, flying is rarely a problem for this cross.

Farm pickup is always open if you would rather come get your puppy yourself. Visits are by appointment, and you can meet the mother, walk through the kennel, and go over the health records and microchip registration in person before you head back. Iowa is a long day of driving each way, so most families here choose delivery, but the door is open if you want to make the drive. One thing worth knowing either way is that this cross can inherit the Dachshund's longer back, so we ask that the puppy be carried and supported rather than allowed to jump in and out of the car during stops on the way home.

About The Puppy Lodge, a Mini Doxiedoodle Puppy Breeder Serving Iowa

We are the Nisley family, nine of us, and we have been raising dogs for over thirteen years from our farm in Coshocton County, Ohio. The Puppy Lodge is USDA licensed as a broker. We own every parent dog behind our litters, and each one has been health tested and genetically tested and picked for temperament, pedigree, and structure. Litters are raised across a small closed network of nearby kennels by breeders who work only with our dogs and follow our standards, and no puppy we sell comes from outside that group.

Because we run Miniature Dachshund and Miniature Poodle programs of our own, both sides of a Mini Doxiedoodle pairing have a known history rather than a guess. That matters most with the spine. Dachshunds carry a well documented risk of disc disease, and a puppy that inherits the long body and short legs carries some of that predisposition with it. We factor structure into which dogs we pair, we say plainly that the risk exists, and our three year health guarantee covers genetic and congenital conditions including spinal ones along with hips and elbows. Keeping the dog lean, using ramps instead of letting them leap off the couch, and walking on a harness rather than a collar does a lot of the rest. There is more on build, coat, and training in our Mini Doxiedoodle guide.

Iowa has plenty of good local breeders, and we are not going to pretend a drive to Ohio is convenient. What we offer instead is a program where the parent dogs are ours and tested, the buildings have heated floors in winter and geothermal cooling in summer, and our vet from Danville Veterinary Clinic is on site every week checking adults and newborns on a set schedule. Every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation from day three through day sixteen, gets handled and played with daily by our kids, and starts potty and crate training before go home day. You can read reviews from families who went through this same process.

Mini Doxiedoodle FAQs Of Iowa Families

Q: How much does it cost to get a Mini Doxiedoodle puppy delivered to Iowa?

A: Ground delivery to Iowa runs around $450, which is our national tier rate. Flight nanny is quoted per flight since the price moves with the airline and the route, and it usually costs more than ground. We go over both on the call after you reserve so you can pick based on your timing and budget.

Q: How long is the drive from Iowa to your Ohio kennel?

A: Plan on about 10 hours from Davenport or Dubuque and closer to 14 from Council Bluffs or Sioux City. Fresno is in east central Ohio, about 80 miles east of Columbus. Most Iowa families choose delivery instead, but pickup appointments are available Monday through Saturday if you want to make the trip.

Q: Do Mini Doxiedoodles handle Iowa winters?

A: They handle cold better with a coat on and shorter walks when the wind picks up. This is a small dog that sits low to the ground, so deep snow and ice are more of an obstacle than the temperature itself. Iowa winters mean a fair number of indoor days, and that is where puzzle toys and scent games earn their keep, since mental work tires this cross out about as well as a long walk does.

Q: Are Mini Doxiedoodles good for people with allergies?

A: No dog is fully hypoallergenic, and we will not claim otherwise. The coat on this cross is low shedding, which means less loose hair and dander moving around the house, and that is often enough for mild to moderate allergies. F1b puppies have more Poodle behind them and usually carry the tightest curl and the least shedding. Spending time around the breed is the only way to know how you react.

Q: How hard are they to train?

A: They pick things up fast, especially anything involving food. The Dachshund side brings a stubborn streak that shows up most in housebreaking and in any moment when the dog catches an interesting scent. Short sessions, treats, and a consistent schedule work. Harsh correction does not, and it tends to make the stubbornness worse.

Q: What if there are no puppies available right now?

A: Puppies go first come, first served with no waitlist, so listings change often. We post upcoming litters for reservation before they are born, which lets you claim a pick early. You can also join our newsletter to hear about new litters as soon as they are announced, or call or text us at 330-790-5007 and we will let you know what is coming.
