Miniature Poodle Puppies for Sale in Maryland

The Puppy Lodge raises Miniature Poodle puppies for sale in Maryland through a small circle of kennels in eastern Ohio. Every one is purebred and can be registered with the AKC, and by the time it heads east it has a vet check, a microchip, and current vaccinations and dewormings. Grown dogs from our program reach a height of 10 to 15 inches and a weight between 10 and 15 pounds, and the tight curls of their coat drop very little hair. A pet transport van brings puppies to homes in Baltimore, Frederick, Annapolis, the Washington suburbs, and down on the Eastern Shore.

Reserving a Miniature Poodle Puppy From Maryland

The listings below show each puppy's price, which depends on its color, coat type, and gender and starts at $1,995. You pay a $200 deposit at online checkout to hold your puppy. The deposit is non-refundable, but if your plans change we can apply it to a different puppy that is still available. Credova financing is also available through an online application.

We keep no waitlist, and the first family to reserve a puppy is the one who gets it. Picks from upcoming litters are open as well, because we post those litters before the puppies are born. Before you reserve, you can read more than 50 Google reviews from past buyers or set up a FaceTime call to watch a puppy play. Puppies leave for their new homes at 8 weeks or older, and we can get yours to Maryland with a flight nanny or on a transport van.

Getting Your Miniature Poodle Puppy Home to Maryland

Once a puppy is reserved, we talk through travel with you by phone. Maryland stretches a long way east to west, so the trip changes a lot depending on your county. Cumberland is about 200 miles from our farm, roughly four hours by car. Baltimore is around 340 miles away, and Ocean City sits close to 460.

Each puppy sets out with a blanket that holds its mother's scent. It also comes with a bag of its current food, so you can keep its meals the same at first and move to a new food slowly if you plan to switch.

Home Delivery for Most of Maryland

For central Maryland, the DC suburbs, Southern Maryland, and the Eastern Shore, we recommend home delivery through a professional pet transport service. It costs around $350. A vet examines each puppy before the van pulls out. On the road, two drivers share the custom climate-controlled van, and your puppy rides in its own carrier while the transport team sends you updates. Delivery is door to door on a date we agree on, with no airport involved.

Driving Over From Western Maryland

Families around Cumberland, Frostburg, or Oakland in Garrett County are close enough that picking up in person makes good sense. Visits are set up by appointment on Monday through Saturday, and we can see you from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm. Once you arrive, we show you around the facility and introduce you to your puppy. Before the drive back to Allegany or Garrett County, we also walk you through its vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee.

Traveling With a Flight Nanny

A trained handler can fly with your puppy on a regular commercial flight into BWI Thurgood Marshall, Hagerstown Regional, or Salisbury Regional. The puppy stays in the passenger cabin the whole way, riding under the seat in front of the handler in an airline-approved soft carrier. Cargo never enters into it. Expect photos and videos while the two of them are in the air, and plan to meet them at baggage claim when they land.

A Mini Poodle puppy traveling at 8 weeks is small enough to stay well under the nanny service's limit of 20 pounds with the carrier. A health certificate signed by a licensed vet is also required before boarding. Bad weather sometimes delays flights, so the nanny service asks you to keep your dates flexible. The nanny option runs higher than van delivery, and each flight gets its own quote.

The Miniature Poodle Puppy Breeder Network Serving Maryland Families

The Puppy Lodge operates from our five acre property in Fresno, Ohio, and our family, the Nisleys, began raising dogs over 13 years ago. Because our litters are raised in a closed group of kennels around Coshocton County, we hold a broker license. Each kennel keeps no dogs but ours and follows our breeding, health testing, and genetic testing rules. We take in no puppy from outside the group. Apart from the occasional outside stud, every parent dog is owned by The Puppy Lodge.

Both dogs in a pairing are health and genetically tested first, including for progressive retinal atrophy. Screening brings the odds down, but taking the risk to zero is beyond any breeder, and we would rather be straight about that. Danville Veterinary Clinic checks the dogs and litters weekly, since a vet picks up knee and early eye trouble in a small breed sooner than an owner does.

Poodles read tone quickly, so the puppies are handled gently and played with daily. From day 3 until day 16 they get early neurological stimulation, and crate and potty training start before they leave. You also receive a written three year health guarantee with your puppy. As a Miniature Poodle puppy breeder serving Maryland from Coshocton County, we are close enough for Garrett and Allegany county families to visit before choosing.

FAQs Of Maryland Families Looking for Miniature Poodles

Q: Can we meet the parents before bringing a puppy home to Maryland?

A: You can meet a puppy's mother by appointment when you come out to Ohio. The father will not always be there to meet, since an outside stud service is used once in a while to strengthen the program. Any stud we use is tested the same way our own dogs are, and we can talk through both parents' health testing with you over the phone.

Q: Will a Mini Poodle be okay while I commute into DC or Baltimore?

A: A long commute takes some planning. A Mini Poodle should not spend a full workday home alone, so arrange a dog walker, a daycare spot, or a midday visit before your puppy arrives. It also needs between 45 and 60 minutes of daily exercise plus puzzle feeders, scent games, or short training sessions. Ten minutes spent on focused training does more to tire one out than simply adding length to the walk.

Q: Do Mini Poodles take to the water at Deep Creek Lake or on the Bay?

A: Most do, since Poodles began in Germany as dogs that retrieved ducks from the water. After a swim at the lake or a bath at home, towel the drop ears dry, because they trap moisture.

Q: What grooming routine should we plan for?

A: Mats tend to start at friction spots like the collar line, the backs of the ears, and the undersides of the legs, so give those extra attention when you brush several times a week. Expect to pay about $50 to $80 for a professional groom, which a Mini Poodle needs every 4 to 6 weeks. A short sporting clip, the most popular cut, is simpler to keep neat through a muggy Maryland July. Once mats set, the groomer has to shave them out, which is why brushing at home counts. Coat, tooth, and nail care are all covered in more depth in our guide to Miniature Poodles.

Q: Will a red or black puppy keep its color as it grows?

A: Poodle coats often lighten over the first year or two. An adult that started out red may end up apricot, and one that started black can pale to silver or blue. Brown coats sometimes go as far as cafe au lait. These shifts are normal and have nothing to do with health or coat quality. If one color matters to you, ask us how the coats in that puppy's parent lines have changed with age.
