Miniature Poodle Puppies for Sale in Michigan

We have Miniature Poodle puppies for sale in Michigan, raised by our partner kennels around Fresno, Ohio. Every puppy we list is a purebred Mini Poodle that can be registered with the AKC, and its curly coat sheds very little. It is microchipped and current on its vaccinations before it heads north to Michigan. The Detroit area is roughly 210 miles from our farm, so families there can drive down for their puppy. For Grand Rapids, Traverse City, and the Upper Peninsula, we can bring your puppy to you.

How We Bring Miniature Poodle Puppies Home to Michigan

Driving time from our farm to Michigan runs from about 3 to 11 hours. The Upper Peninsula sits at the long end of that range, with Marquette about 640 miles away by road. Once your puppy is reserved, we get on the phone with you and decide how it should reach your corner of Michigan. Your puppy travels with a blanket that carries its mother's scent, whichever of the three options you pick. We also pack a bag of its current food so you can switch foods gradually.

Driving Down from Southeast Michigan

For families in metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Monroe, we recommend coming to Fresno to pick up your puppy. Pickup is by appointment, and you get to meet your puppy in person and tour the facility. Before you start back to Michigan, you sit down with us to go over the microchip registration, vaccination records, and health guarantee.

Van Delivery to Your Michigan Door

Home delivery fits best for Lansing, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Flint, Saginaw, and most of northern Lower Michigan. The fee is the same for every Michigan address, around $350. A professional pet transport service runs the custom van, which stays climate-controlled through a Michigan January, and two drivers go on every trip.

Your puppy sees a vet before departure and then makes the whole drive door to door in a carrier of its own. The drivers send updates as they head north, so you can follow the trip. The delivery date is something we settle together by phone. The van also crosses the Mackinac Bridge, so Upper Peninsula families who would rather skip flying can choose it.

Flight Nanny for the Upper Peninsula

For Marquette and the rest of the Upper Peninsula, we suggest a flight nanny. The nanny, a trained handler, takes a commercial flight with your puppy in the cabin and keeps its airline-approved soft carrier at their feet under the seat. Nothing rides in cargo. Along the way you get photos and video, and the handoff takes place at baggage claim in whichever Michigan airport you choose. Airports in the state with scheduled passenger flights include Detroit Metropolitan (DTW), Gerald R. Ford International in Grand Rapids (GRR), Bishop International in Flint (FNT), Cherry Capital in Traverse City (TVC), and Marquette Sawyer Regional (MQT).

Nanny flights are open to puppies 8 weeks and older that weigh under 20 pounds in their carrier, which is the service's own requirement. Mini Poodle puppies are small at 8 weeks, well below that cap. Flying gets the puppy to you sooner than the van and has a higher price, which we quote for each flight. We also set up the health certificate for the flight, and a licensed vet signs it. Lake-effect snow and winter storms can delay flights in and out of Michigan, so some flexibility on the date helps.

The Miniature Poodle Puppy Breeder Network Serving Michigan Families

The Puppy Lodge belongs to the Nisley family, who have raised dogs for over 13 years on five acres in Fresno. Our litters are raised at kennels near the farm, so we hold a broker license. Those kennels are a closed group working to our standards with Puppy Lodge dogs only, and we never list a puppy from outside it. Every parent dog belongs to The Puppy Lodge, with the occasional outside stud as the exception.

No pairing happens until both parents finish health and genetic tests, which cover coat and color and screen for progressive retinal atrophy, an inherited eye disease. Testing lowers the chances, but no breeder can rule the risk out completely, and we would rather be upfront about that. Danville Veterinary Clinic is at the kennels weekly, and its vet can notice patellar luxation or early eye changes sooner than an owner would. Early neurological stimulation takes place from day 3 to day 16, with daily handling and play until the puppies leave. By the time a puppy goes home, potty and crate training have started, and it comes with a written three year health guarantee.

As a Miniature Poodle puppy breeder serving Michigan from Fresno, we are a few hours from the southeast corner of the state, close enough for a visit. Farther north, families can read what past buyers say in the 50+ Google reviews.

FAQs Of Michigan Families Looking for Miniature Poodles

Q: Can we visit before bringing our puppy home?

A: Visits are booked ahead for Monday through Saturday, between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, and meeting your puppy's mother is part of the trip. You may not meet the father, since we bring in an outside stud now and then to strengthen the program.

Q: How does a Mini Poodle handle Michigan winters?

A: A Mini Poodle has a single curly coat with no undercoat, so it feels the cold more than a husky or a lab would. A sweater or coat helps on below freezing walks, especially in the Upper Peninsula and along the lakeshore. After a walk on salted sidewalks, give its paws a quick rinse and towel off the coat, pulling out any snowballs stuck in the curls.

Q: Does a Mini Poodle need a dog license in Michigan?

A: Under Michigan's dog law, any dog 4 months or older must be licensed, and the application needs a current rabies vaccination certificate. You apply through your county treasurer, or through your city or township if it handles licensing. Since puppies go home at 8 weeks, you have some time before the license is due.

Q: How much grooming does a Mini Poodle need?

A: Brush the whole coat several times a week, checking the friction spots behind the ears, under the legs, and around the collar for knots. The curls never stop growing, which means a trip to a professional groomer every 4 to 6 weeks, usually for $50 to $80. If you live in a smaller town up north, it helps to book your groomer well ahead. Dry your dog's drop ears after a swim in Lake Michigan or an inland lake, since they trap moisture.

Q: Will a Mini Poodle be happy in an apartment in Detroit or Ann Arbor?

A: Apartment living can work for a Mini Poodle that gets 45 to 60 minutes of exercise daily, along with some training or puzzle work. Without enough to do, it tends to bark more. It also should not be left alone for a full workday, so a dog walker or daycare helps if you commute. Our guide on what to know before bringing home a Miniature Poodle goes deeper into exercise, training, and grooming.
