The Pomsky is a designer breed created by crossing a Siberian Husky with a Pomeranian. Because of the size difference between the two parent breeds, responsible Pomsky litters are produced through artificial insemination with the Husky as the mother. The first documented Pomsky litter in the United States was born in 2012, making this a relatively new breed that has gained popularity fast. Pomskies are small to medium-sized dogs that usually weigh between 10 and 30 pounds and stands 10 to 15 inches tall, though size can vary some depending on how much of each parent breed comes through. Their appearance often resembles a miniature Husky with the thick double coat, erect ears, and expressive eyes that their parent is known for. Eye color can range from brown and amber to blue, green, and even heterochromia, where each eye is a different color. Pomskies are intelligent, energetic, and social dogs that bond well with their families and want to be involved in everything going on around them. They are playful and affectionate and do well with children when socialized early.
