Miniature Poodle Puppies for Sale in Texas

Our Miniature Poodle puppies for sale in Texas are listed on our website, and any of them can travel to you from Fresno, Ohio, about 1,100 miles northeast of Dallas. Each puppy comes from health and genetically tested parents. It leaves with its own health record, which lists its microchip and every vaccination and deworming it has had so far. Grown Mini Poodles weigh about 10 to 15 pounds, small enough for a townhouse in Houston and sturdy enough to keep up with kids in a big backyard outside San Antonio. Their coat is a dense mass of curls that barely sheds and never stops growing.

Texas families can reserve this Mini Poodle puppy

Reserve a Miniature Poodle Puppy for Your Texas Home

Our listings below show each Mini Poodle's price, which starts at $1,995 and depends on color, coat type, and gender. The puppy you want is yours once you pay a $200 deposit. That money is non-refundable. If a different puppy ends up suiting your family better, we can move the deposit over to it while it is still available. Reserving is first come, first served, because we don't use a waitlist. You can also apply online for Credova financing. Puppies are ready once they reach eight weeks, and yours can be flown or driven to Texas when that day comes.

Getting Your Miniature Poodle Puppy Home to Texas

We settle on one of our three options by phone after you reserve, and where you live in Texas usually decides it. The drive from Fresno takes 16 to 26 hours, shortest to Texarkana and the northeast corner and longest to El Paso. Each Texas-bound puppy leaves Ohio with a blanket that has its mother's scent. Its current food goes along in a bag, which lets you switch its diet slowly.

For Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and El Paso, we usually suggest a flight nanny. Those cities all have major airports, and a flight saves the most time for El Paso families. In East Texas, around Tyler or Longview, van delivery tends to be the better choice, since the major airports are a fair drive away and the van comes to your house.

Flying In With a Flight Nanny

Flight nannies are trained handlers who buy a seat on a commercial flight and keep the puppy with them in the passenger cabin. Its airline-approved soft carrier slides under the seat in front of the handler and stays there for the whole trip. Nothing rides in cargo. You can expect photos and video while you wait, and the handler meets you at baggage claim once the plane lands.

Handoffs work at DFW International, Dallas Love Field, Houston's Bush Intercontinental and Hobby, Austin-Bergstrom, San Antonio International, and El Paso International. Puppy and carrier together have to come in under 20 pounds for the nanny service, a limit an eight week old Mini Poodle clears easily. A health certificate signed by a licensed vet is part of every nanny flight, and we arrange it. This option is faster than the van and costs more, with a price we quote for each flight. Summer thunderstorms and Gulf Coast storm season can hold up flights into Houston, so leave a day or two of room in your plans.

Van Delivery to Your Door

Around $450 brings a puppy to a Texas address by van, which is the most popular of our three options. The custom climate controlled van keeps the air cool inside when Texas afternoons climb past 100 degrees. Two drivers share each trip, and both work for a professional pet transport service. Your puppy gets a vet exam first. From there it travels door to door in its own carrier, and the drivers keep you updated along the way.

Pickup in Ohio

Families can also make the drive to Fresno and pick up by appointment. During that visit we show you around the kennel and go through the puppy's paperwork together, including its vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee. From Texas that trip mostly makes sense when you already have plans in Ohio or a neighboring state.

The Miniature Poodle Puppy Breeder Network Serving Texas Families

For more than 13 years the Nisley family has raised dogs, and their five acre farm in Fresno, Ohio, is home base for The Puppy Lodge. A handful of kennels close to the farm raise our Mini Poodles as a closed group, and we work with them under a broker license. The breeders there keep no dogs but ours and follow one Puppy Lodge standard. No puppy we offer comes from anywhere else. The parent dogs are all owned by The Puppy Lodge, aside from a stud brought in from outside now and again.

Before pairing, the parents are tested for inherited conditions, progressive retinal atrophy among them. Screening brings the odds down, but taking the risk to zero is beyond any breeder, and we would rather be straight about that. Weekly checks of adult dogs and newborn litters by Danville Veterinary Clinic mean loose kneecaps and early eye changes get noticed by a vet first. Each puppy gets early neurological stimulation from day 3 until day 16, daily handling and play, and a start on crate and potty training.

Buying from a Miniature Poodle puppy breeder serving Texas from Ohio still lets you know how your puppy's parents were tested, since we go over it by phone. Every puppy has a written three year health guarantee, and more than 50 Google reviews show what earlier buyers thought.

FAQs Of Texas Families Looking for Miniature Poodles

Q: How does a Mini Poodle puppy handle a Texas summer?

A: Keep outdoor time to early morning and after sunset during the hottest months of a Texas summer. Sidewalks in Dallas or San Antonio can get hot enough to burn paws, so lay a hand on the pavement before a walk. A bowl of fresh water should always be within reach. A short sporting clip, the most common Mini Poodle trim, is easier to keep up with in the heat.

Q: Will a Mini Poodle swim at Lake Travis or Canyon Lake?

A: Most will, because the Poodle was originally a German water dog used to fetch ducks. Swimming on a hot Hill Country afternoon is a good way to tire one out. Rinse off the lake water afterward and dry the ears, which fold down and hold moisture that can lead to infection.

Q: How much grooming will our Mini Poodle need?

A: Brushing several times a week keeps the curls from matting, with extra attention behind the ears, under the legs, and around the collar. Texas yards add a chore of their own, because grass burrs and stickers catch in the curls and between the toes, so look your dog over after it has been outside. On top of that home care, a Mini Poodle goes to the groomer every four to six weeks, usually for $50 to $80 each time. For more on brushing and trims, see everything you should know about Miniature Poodles before your puppy arrives.

Q: Will my puppy's color change as it grows?

A: Red coats sometimes lighten to apricot over the first year or two, blacks can clear to silver or blue, and browns can drift toward cafe au lait. It is a cosmetic shift and not a sign of any health issue. If you want a puppy that stays close to one color as an adult, call us before you reserve and we can tell you how coats have faded in the parents' lines.

Q: Can we meet the parents before our puppy travels to Texas?

A: Visiting hours run Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, by appointment, and a visit lets you meet your puppy's mother along with the puppy itself. Sometimes the father is elsewhere, because an outside stud is occasionally used to strengthen the program. If Ohio is out of reach, we can show you the puppy live on FaceTime.
