A Fluffy Frenchie Made for Florida Life

Fluffy Frenchies are easygoing, affectionate, and just as happy in a Miami condo as in a house with a yard near Orlando. They don't need much exercise or space. What they want most is to be near you in the cool indoors, out of Florida's heavy heat, which is a good fit for the way most Floridians already live.

What Makes a Fluffy Frenchie Special

A Fluffy Frenchie is a real French Bulldog, with the same big bat ears and the same friendly, playful personality. The one difference is the coat. Most Frenchies have short fur, but a Fluffy has longer, softer fur around the ears, chest, and legs. It comes from one special gene that both parents have to carry, and most breeders never test for it, which is why real fluffies are hard to find. We test ours, so we always know what a litter will be before it arrives.

Getting Your Puppy Home to Florida

Florida is close to a full day's drive from our farm in Ohio, roughly 18 to 20 hours depending on which part of the state you're in, so most Florida families use one of our safe delivery options instead of making the trip themselves. We work with a professional pet transport company whose only job is moving animals safely. Your puppy rides in a climate-controlled vehicle with experienced handlers who keep young Frenchies calm and comfortable the whole way.

Ground delivery, statewide — driven right to your door anywhere in Florida in a climate-controlled vehicle.

Flight nanny — for faster delivery, a nanny flies with your puppy in the cabin to a major Florida airport, like Orlando International Airport (MCO), Tampa International Airport (TPA), Miami International Airport (MIA), or Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). Your puppy is never shipped alone in cargo.

Farm pickup — you're always welcome to come meet the parents and take your puppy home yourself. You can drive in, or fly into one of three nearby airports and make a short trip out to the farm: Akron-Canton is about an hour and 20 minutes away, Columbus about an hour and a half, and Pittsburgh about two hours. Just set up a time with us first.

Keeping Your Frenchie Cool in Florida

Frenchies have flat faces, so they can't cool themselves the way longer-nosed dogs do. In Florida, that's the one thing to really understand before you bring one home.

Most of the country gets a break from the heat in winter. Florida barely does. Down in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, January afternoons still reach the mid-70s, and the humidity almost never lets up. That damp air is the real challenge, because a Frenchie cools itself by panting, and panting hardly works when the air is already full of moisture. So in Florida, a Frenchie is really an indoor, air-conditioned dog for most of the year, and most owners here plan around that from day one.

A few habits make it easy:

  • Do walks and outdoor play early in the morning or after sundown, when it's coolest.
  • Keep the AC on and cool water close by during the day.
  • Watch for heavy panting, drooling, or a wobbly, tired dog. Cool them down and call your vet, and never leave a Frenchie in a parked car.

Florida rewards early risers. Take a short morning walk along the Tampa Riverwalk, or visit one of the state's dog beaches, like Fort De Soto near St. Petersburg or the dog beach in Hollywood. Your Frenchie gets fresh air and a little adventure before the heat sets in, then heads back to the AC for the rest of the day.

FAQs Of Florida Families

Q:Are Fluffy Frenchies real French Bulldogs?

A:Yes, 100%. The only difference is the longer, soft coat that comes from one gene both parents carry.

Q:How much do Fluffy Frenchies cost?

A:Fluffies cost more than standard Frenchies because they're rare. Ours range from $2,800 to $6,000, depending on color and looks. Financing is available.

Q:Is my deposit refundable?

A:A $200 deposit holds your puppy. The deposit is non-refundable, because once you reserve a puppy, we take it off the market for other families. If something comes up, we'll work with you to move your deposit to another available puppy.

Q:Is Florida's humidity hard on a Frenchie?

A:It can be, so it's worth planning for. Humidity is actually tougher on a Frenchie than plain heat, because it makes panting less effective. Keep your dog indoors with the AC during the hot, damp part of the day, do walks early or late, and never leave them in a parked car.

Q:When can my puppy come home?

A:The earliest a puppy can go home is 8 weeks old. That gives them enough time with their mom and littermates to grow strong and start life confident.

Q:What comes with my puppy?

A:Every puppy goes home vet-checked, up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped, with health records, a small bag of the food they've been eating, and our written 3-year health guarantee.

Q:Can I visit the farm and meet the puppies?

A:Yes, by appointment. We're a working kennel, so we schedule visits to make sure we can give you our time and show you the kennel, the adult dogs, and all of our puppies. Just set up a time with us first.

Q:How does delivery to Florida work?

A:A professional pet transport company brings your puppy by climate-controlled vehicle, or a flight nanny flies with them to a major Florida airport. Your puppy is never shipped alone in cargo.
