The Fluffy Frenchie Breeder Behind Our Georgia Puppies
We are too far from Georgia to be anyone's local breeder, so here is a look at how we run things. Every parent dog belongs to The Puppy Lodge. If we bring in a stud from outside, it goes through the same testing as ours. A few litters are whelped in Fresno at our first kennel. The rest come from a closed group of nearby kennels that keep only our dogs and follow our health testing and breeding rules.
For Fluffy Frenchies, the testing that matters most is coat genetics. Without the long-hair gene from both the mother and the father, a puppy grows a short coat, so we DNA test every parent for coat, eye color, and furnishings before it is paired. The results tell us whether a pairing can give fluffy puppies and what colors might appear, including common cream, fawn, and blue and rarer lilac and isabella. Every parent also goes through health screening, and we look for open nostrils and a good airway when choosing breeding dogs. No screening can promise a problem will never show up, but it makes one much less likely. The written health guarantee on every puppy runs three years and covers inherited and congenital conditions. Problems with the hips or elbows count as well.
The buildings across our network stay climate controlled all year, warm through the Ohio winter and cool in summer.
