A Fluffy Frenchie Made for Alabama Life

A Fluffy Frenchie fits easily into life in Alabama, whether you're in Birmingham, the Magic City up in the hills, out near Huntsville, or down along the coast in Mobile. They're gentle, laid-back dogs that don't need a lot of room or exercise, just a short walk in the cooler part of the day and a comfortable place to relax. For a warm, welcoming state where folks like to take it slow, they make a perfect companion.

What Makes a Fluffy Frenchie Special

A Fluffy Frenchie is a French Bulldog dressed in a longer, softer coat than the short one you usually see on the breed. Beyond that coat, everything is classic Frenchie: the flat little face, the big bat ears, and a loving, goofy personality that fits into family life beautifully. The fluffy coat comes from one gene that both parents must carry, and since almost no breeders test for it, true fluffies are hard to come by. We test our dogs, so we know which puppies in a litter will be fluffy long before they arrive.

Getting Your Puppy Home to Alabama

Our farm is in Ohio, a solid but very doable trip from Alabama, and we've made bringing your puppy home simple. You have three ways to do it.

Flight nanny — a popular pick for Alabama families. A nanny flies with your puppy in the cabin into Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM), Huntsville International Airport (HSV), or Mobile Regional Airport (MOB) on the coast. Your puppy is never shipped alone in cargo.

Ground delivery — a professional pet transport company drives your puppy right to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle, anywhere from the Tennessee Valley to the Gulf.

Farm pickup — you're always welcome to visit the farm by appointment, meet the parents, and take your puppy home yourself.

Raising a Frenchie in the Alabama Heat

If there's one thing to know about caring for a Frenchie in Alabama, it's this: the summer humidity is the part that deserves your real attention.

Alabama is one of the most humid states in the country, and along the Gulf around Mobile it's downright soupy. That matters for a Frenchie more than the temperature on the thermometer does, because a flat-faced dog cools itself by panting, and panting barely works when the air is already thick with moisture. So through the long Alabama summer, treat your Frenchie as an indoor, air-conditioned dog during the day. Walk them in the early morning or the evening when it's cooler, keep fresh water in reach at all times, and never push them to exercise in the heat of the afternoon.

Winter, happily, asks very little. Across Alabama the cold season is short and gentle, snow is a rare novelty, and a light sweater on a chilly morning is usually all your Frenchie needs. That leaves much of the year open for enjoying the outdoors together.

Once the worst of the heat passes, Alabama is lovely for a dog. You might explore the trails at Red Mountain Park in Birmingham, climb Monte Sano near Huntsville, or, on a breezy day, take a gentle walk near the water down on the coast.

FAQs Of Alabama Families

Q:Are Fluffy Frenchies real French Bulldogs?

A:Yes, 100%. The only difference is the longer, soft coat that comes from one gene both parents carry.

Q:How much do Fluffy Frenchies cost?

A:Fluffies cost more than standard Frenchies because they're rare. Ours range from $2,800 to $6,000, depending on color and looks. Financing is available.

Q:Is my deposit refundable?

A:A $200 deposit holds your puppy. The deposit is non-refundable, because once you reserve a puppy, we take it off the market for other families. If something comes up, we'll work with you to move your deposit to another available puppy.

Q:Is Alabama's humid heat dangerous for a Frenchie?

A:It can be if you're careless, so treat it with respect. A short-nosed breed struggles to shed heat on a sticky Alabama afternoon, which is why the humid months call for real care. The good news is that simple habits keep them safe: air conditioning during the day, walks in the cool morning and evening, shade, water, and never any hard exercise in the afternoon heat.

Q:Do winters in Alabama call for much?

A:Not really. Winters here are short and mild, snow hardly ever shows up, and a light sweater on the occasional cold morning is about all you'll need for your Frenchie.

Q:When can my puppy come home?

A:The earliest a puppy can go home is 8 weeks old. That gives them enough time with their mom and littermates to grow strong and start life confident.

Q:What comes with my puppy?

A:Every puppy goes home vet-checked, up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped, with health records, a small bag of the food they've been eating, and our written 3-year health guarantee.
