By road, Alabama is roughly 8 to 14 hours from our kennel. The Huntsville area up north is on the shorter end of that drive, and Mobile down on the Gulf Coast is on the longer end. Reserving a Fluffy Frenchie Puppy in Alabama
Each puppy on this page has its own photos and price, and you can reserve one online with a $200 deposit. The deposit is non-refundable, but it can be moved to another available puppy. We do not run a waitlist. A puppy goes to the first family that reserves it, which can happen the same day it is posted. A professional pet transporter drives your puppy right to your house in a climate-controlled van. Before the trip your puppy gets a vet checkup, then it rides in its own carrier while you get updates along the route. Vans head out of Fresno on Tuesday mornings, and trips into the Deep South usually take 2 to 3 days depending on the route. Delivery anywhere in Alabama is a flat fee of around $350.
This is our favorite choice for a Frenchie going south. The van stays at a steady temperature the whole way, and there is no airport trip at the end.
Flight Nanny to Birmingham, Huntsville, or Montgomery
A flight nanny is the faster option. A trained handler flies with your puppy on a commercial flight into Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International (BHM), Huntsville International (HSV), or Montgomery Regional (MGM) and hands it to you at baggage claim. Most of these trips wrap up the same day. Flat-faced dogs should not fly in cargo, so your puppy stays in the cabin in a soft carrier under the seat, and the nanny sends photos and videos as you wait.
Flight nanny service costs more than the van and is priced per flight. Your puppy has to be at least 8 weeks old and under 20 pounds with its carrier, and we arrange a health certificate from a licensed vet before it travels. Storms can delay flights, so try to keep a day or two open around the planned date.
Picking Up in Fresno, Ohio
You can also drive up and collect your puppy by appointment. We go over the vaccine records, microchip registration, and health guarantee with you in person. With at least 8 hours on the road each way, pickup mostly makes sense for north Alabama families who want to see the kennel for themselves.
However it travels, your puppy comes with a bag of the food it has been eating and a small blanket that smells like its mom.

Since we are a long drive from Alabama, we expect families there to compare us with breeders in their own state. The biggest difference is our testing. A Frenchie only grows the long coat when it inherits two copies of a recessive gene, so every parent dog is checked for health and genetics, including coat, eye color, and furnishings. That tells us ahead of time if a pairing can produce fluffy puppies, and we are glad to walk you through the testing on both parents before you put down a deposit. We also choose breeding dogs with sound structure and open nostrils in mind.
The parent dogs all belong to us, and when we use an outside stud it goes through the same testing. Litters are raised at our original Fresno kennel and by a small group of Puppy Lodge certified breeders nearby who work only with our dogs and follow our standards. Because short airways make Frenchies sensitive to heat, every one of those buildings is climate controlled. The tile floors are heated in cold months, geothermal cooling keeps things comfortable when it warms up, and outdoor play is always supervised.
Our puppies begin Early Neurological Stimulation on their third day and keep at it through day 16. They are handled and played with daily, and we start potty and crate training before they leave at 8 weeks or older. Danville Veterinary Clinic visits every week to check the moms and litters. Each puppy goes home vet checked, microchipped, and current on shots and deworming, with a written three-year guarantee covering genetic and congenital conditions, including hip and elbow problems.
