A Fluffy Frenchie Made for Tennessee Life

A Fluffy Frenchie fits right in whether you're downtown in Nashville, out in the Memphis suburbs, or tucked into the hills near Knoxville. They're easygoing little dogs that don't need much room or exercise, just a short walk and a spot near you to settle down. For a family that wants a small, loving companion rather than a high-energy working dog, a fluffy is hard to beat.

What Makes a Fluffy Frenchie Special

Picture a French Bulldog, then add a longer, softer coat, and that's a Fluffy Frenchie. Everything else is the breed you already know: the flat face, the upright ears, the affectionate and faintly stubborn personality. The coat comes from a single gene, and both the mother and father have to carry it before a puppy can be born fluffy. Most breeders don't test for it, so genuine fluffies are hard to find. We test our dogs, so we can tell you which puppies in a litter will turn out fluffy well ahead of time.

Getting Your Puppy Home to Tennessee

Our farm is in Ohio, an easy trip down for most of Tennessee, and we've made getting your puppy home simple. You have three ways to do it.

Flight nanny — a popular choice for Tennessee families. A nanny flies with your puppy in the cabin into Nashville International Airport (BNA), Memphis International Airport (MEM), or Knoxville McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS). Your puppy is never shipped alone in cargo.

Ground delivery — a professional pet transport company drives your puppy right to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle, anywhere across the state.

Farm pickup — you're always welcome to visit the farm by appointment, meet the parents, and take your puppy home yourself.

Raising a Frenchie Across Tennessee

Tennessee runs a long way from west to east, but for a Frenchie the weather story is much the same across the state: warm, humid summers and easy winters.

The summer heat is what deserves your attention. It gets hot and sticky from Memphis to Chattanooga, and that humidity is tough on a flat-faced dog, because damp air makes it harder for them to cool down by panting. A dry 90-degree day is easier on a Frenchie than a muggy one, so the muggy afternoons are when you want to keep your dog inside with the AC. Walk in the early morning or the evening, and always keep fresh water close.

Winters, on the other hand, are a breeze here. Snow is rare and light across most of Tennessee, and the cold is mild, so beyond a sweater on the chilliest days, there isn't much to manage. Up in the eastern hills toward Knoxville and the Smokies it runs a little cooler, but nothing a short-coated dog can't handle with a warm coat.

When the heat lets up, Tennessee is a wonderful place to have a dog. Memphis has the huge Shelby Farms Park with miles of trails, Nashville has the wooded paths of Percy Warner Park, and over east you can walk the Tennessee Riverwalk in Chattanooga with the mountains in view.

FAQs Of Tennessee Families

Q:Are Fluffy Frenchies real French Bulldogs?

A:Yes, 100%. The only difference is the longer, soft coat that comes from one gene both parents carry.

Q:How much do Fluffy Frenchies cost?

A:Fluffies cost more than standard Frenchies because they're rare. Ours range from $2,800 to $6,000, depending on color and looks. Financing is available.

Q:Is my deposit refundable?

A:A $200 deposit holds your puppy. The deposit is non-refundable, because once you reserve a puppy, we take it off the market for other families. If something comes up, we'll work with you to move your deposit to another available puppy.

Q:Can a Frenchie handle the Tennessee heat?

A:Yes, as long as you plan around the humidity. A short-nosed dog leans on panting to beat the heat, and that works far better in dry air than in Tennessee's summer mugginess, so give your Frenchie the AC on the stickiest afternoons, save walks for the morning and evening, and never leave them in a parked car.

Q:Are winters in Tennessee hard on a Frenchie?

A:Not really. Tennessee winters are mild with little snow, so a sweater on the coldest days is usually all it takes. It's a bit cooler in the eastern mountains, but still very manageable.

Q:When can my puppy come home?

A:The earliest a puppy can go home is 8 weeks old. That gives them enough time with their mom and littermates to grow strong and start life confident.

Q:What comes with my puppy?

A:Every puppy goes home vet-checked, up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped, with health records, a small bag of the food they've been eating, and our written 3-year health guarantee.
