A Fluffy Frenchie Made for Kentucky Life

Fluffy Frenchies are easygoing, affectionate little dogs that settle in nicely anywhere in Kentucky, from a place in Louisville to a home out in the bluegrass around Lexington. They don't need acres to run or a lot of exercise. A short walk and a comfortable spot by your side is what they're built for, which makes them a good match for city and country living alike.

What Makes a Fluffy Frenchie Special

A Fluffy Frenchie is a French Bulldog through and through, just wearing a longer, softer coat. The face, the ears, the sturdy little build, the big affectionate streak, all of it is classic Frenchie. The fluffy coat comes down to one gene, and a puppy is only born with it when both parents carry that gene. Testing for it isn't something most breeders bother with, which is why real fluffies are so uncommon. We test our dogs, so we know what's coming in each litter before the puppies arrive.

Getting Your Puppy Home to Kentucky

Kentucky is one of the easier states for us to reach, since our farm sits just a few hours north across Ohio. You have three ways to bring your puppy home.

Farm pickup — a great option for Kentucky families, especially if you're in the northern part of the state near Cincinnati, which is close to us. Come meet the parents, see the kennel, and take your puppy home yourself. We set up a time by appointment so we can give you our full attention.

Ground delivery — a professional pet transport company drives your puppy right to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle, anywhere from Louisville to the far western corner of the state.

Flight nanny — a nanny can also fly with your puppy in the cabin to a major Kentucky airport, like Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF), Blue Grass Airport (LEX) in Lexington, or the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) just up north. Your puppy is never shipped alone in cargo.

Raising a Frenchie in Kentucky

Kentucky sits in a comfortable middle ground when it comes to weather, but the summers are the part to plan around.

From Louisville to Lexington and down to Bowling Green, summers are warm and humid, often reaching the upper 80s and low 90s. Humidity is harder on a flat-faced dog than dry heat, since it makes it tougher for them to cool off by panting. So on hot, sticky days, keep your Frenchie in the air conditioning and save walks for the cooler morning and evening hours.

Winters here are much easier than up north. You'll get some cold spells and a little snow, a bit more in the northern counties near the river, but nothing extreme. A sweater on the coldest days and a quick paw wipe after a salted sidewalk usually covers it.

Kentucky is good dog country once the heat backs off. In Louisville, the Louisville Loop runs for miles along the water, and around Lexington you can walk the Legacy Trail through the edge of horse country, which is a pretty way to spend a cool morning with your pup.

FAQs Of Kentucky Families

Q:Are Fluffy Frenchies real French Bulldogs?

A:Yes, 100%. The only difference is the longer, soft coat that comes from one gene both parents carry.

Q:How much do Fluffy Frenchies cost?

A:Fluffies cost more than standard Frenchies because they're rare. Ours range from $2,800 to $6,000, depending on color and looks. Financing is available.

Q:Is my deposit refundable?

A:A $200 deposit holds your puppy. The deposit is non-refundable, because once you reserve a puppy, we take it off the market for other families. If something comes up, we'll work with you to move your deposit to another available puppy.

Q:Can a Frenchie handle Kentucky summers?

A:Yes, with a little care. Humidity is the main thing to watch, because a flat-faced breed relies on panting to stay cool and damp air blunts that. Walk in the cool morning or evening, use the AC on hot, sticky days, and never leave your dog in a parked car.

Q:Can I visit the farm and meet the puppies?

A:Yes, and since we're only a few hours north, it's an easy trip for many Kentucky families, especially those near Cincinnati. We're a working kennel, so we schedule visits by appointment to make sure we can give you our time and show you the kennel, the adult dogs, and all of our puppies.

Q:When can my puppy come home?

A:The earliest a puppy can go home is 8 weeks old. That gives them enough time with their mom and littermates to grow strong and start life confident.

Q:What comes with my puppy?

A:Every puppy goes home vet-checked, up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped, with health records, a small bag of the food they've been eating, and our written 3-year health guarantee.
