Reserving a Miniature Poodle Puppy from Georgia

Current puppies appear below with photos and prices. The lowest price is $1,995, and a puppy's color, coat type, and gender can move the price higher. None of the puppies leave before eight weeks of age, and once yours is ready, we can have it delivered to your home anywhere in Georgia.

To hold one, you put down $200 online. That $200 is non-refundable, though if something comes up, the money carries over to another available puppy. There is no waitlist. A puppy goes to the first family that reserves it, and another family could claim one you like before the day is over. Posted litters that have not been born yet are open for picks as well.

If you would like to see a puppy moving and playing first, we can set up a FaceTime call, and financing is available through Credova if you apply online. Our newsletter, by email or text, is the first place new litters are announced, which helps when the listings are thin.

Getting Your Miniature Poodle Puppy Home to Georgia

Georgia sits nine to thirteen hours south of Fresno by road. The northwest corner around Dalton is at the short end of that range, and Valdosta and the coast are at the long end. After you reserve, we call and help you choose the option that suits your part of Georgia. Whichever one you pick, the puppy rides with a blanket that has its mother's scent on it. We send along a bag of the Purina Pro Plan it has been eating too, which lets you change foods gradually at home.

Door to Door by Van, Our Pick for Georgia

For most Georgia families we suggest home delivery, because the drive is long for a pickup and the van costs less than a flight nanny. A professional pet transport service runs the custom climate-controlled van, and two drivers share the wheel on every run, bringing the puppy door to door with no airport involved. A vet looks it over before the van leaves Ohio, and the puppy rides in its own carrier while the drivers keep you posted. The fee comes to around $350 no matter where in Georgia you live, and the arrival date is worked out with you in advance.

Picking Up at the Farm in Fresno

To collect your puppy in person, call to book a visit during our hours, which run Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. At the farm you can hold it, meet its mother, and look around the kennel, then go over the health guarantee, vaccination records, and microchip registration with us. With the drive in both directions, a pickup from Georgia is best planned as at least a two day trip.

Flying with a Nanny into Atlanta, Savannah, or Augusta

If you want the puppy home sooner, it can fly with a trained handler on a commercial airline, riding in the cabin in an airline approved soft carrier stowed under the seat ahead. Nothing rides in cargo. You get photos and video along the way and collect the puppy at baggage claim at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, Savannah/Hilton Head International, or Augusta Regional. The price is set for each flight and runs higher than the van.

To fly, the nanny service asks that a puppy be at least eight weeks old and weigh less than 20 pounds once it is in its carrier. A Mini Poodle that young is small and stays well under the limit. Its paperwork includes a health certificate from a licensed vet, which we set up ahead of the flight. Bad weather can delay a flight, and having some give in your plans helps.

The Miniature Poodle Puppy Breeder Network Serving Georgia Families

For more than 13 years, our family, the Nisleys, has raised dogs at The Puppy Lodge in Fresno. We hold a broker license. Our litters come from a closed circle of local kennels whose breeders keep no dogs but ours and follow the same health testing, genetic testing, and breeding standards, and we never take in a puppy from outside that circle. Apart from the occasional outside stud, every parent dog is owned by The Puppy Lodge.

Every Miniature Poodle parent in the program has been tested for inherited problems like progressive retinal atrophy. Testing lowers the chances, but no breeder can rule the risk out completely, and we would rather be upfront about that. Coat and color traits are part of the screening. By the time a litter is born, the parents' results tell us its likely coat type, adult size range, and health profile. Our adult dogs and newborn litters are seen every week by Danville Veterinary Clinic. Each puppy also goes through early neurological stimulation, a short handling routine done from day 3 to day 16.

Families choosing a Miniature Poodle puppy breeder serving Georgia from out of state can call us to go over the parent dogs and their test results before reserving. Earlier buyers have left us 50+ Google reviews, and your puppy will come with a written three year health guarantee.

FAQs Of Georgia Families Looking for Miniature Poodles

Q: Can I meet the parents before I buy a puppy?

A: When you visit us in Fresno by appointment, you can meet the mother. The father is not always there, because an outside stud service is used from time to time to strengthen the program. Both parents are tested either way. If the drive from Georgia is not practical before you decide, we can go over the mother, the father, and their test results with you by phone.

Q: Is swimming a good way to exercise a Mini Poodle in Georgia?

A: The breed was first used in Germany as a water dog, and most Mini Poodles still like to swim. Lake Lanier, Lake Allatoona, and Lake Hartwell are all within a couple of hours of Atlanta, and a swim can cover part of the 45 to 60 minutes of activity these dogs need each day. Towel the ears dry after every swim, since drop ears trap water and damp ears are an easy place for an infection to start.

Q: How often will a Mini Poodle need a groomer?

A: Budget for a trip to a groomer every four to six weeks, at roughly $50 to $80 a visit. Between appointments, brush every other day and check the collar area, the backs of the ears, and under each leg closely, since mats form first in those spots. Any mat left to set will need to be shaved out. Our guide to bringing home a Miniature Poodle walks through grooming and everyday life with one.

Q: Are your puppies a good match for a family with kids?

A: Mini Poodles do well with children who have learned to handle a small dog gently, and they are sturdy rather than delicate. The puppies are handled and played with every day before they leave, and potty and crate training has already started. Kids can help with training as long as everyone sticks to treats and praise, because these dogs are sensitive and do not respond well to harsh correction.

Q: Will my puppy's color change as it grows?

A: It might. Over the first year or two, a red puppy can lighten to apricot, a black one can clear to silver or blue, and a brown one can fade toward cafe au lait. None of these changes point to a health problem. If color matters to you, ask us about fading in the parents' lines before you reserve.
