Teddy Bear Puppies for Sale in Illinois
Our Teddy Bear puppies for sale in Illinois come from The Puppy Lodge, a family run program based on a five acre farm in Fresno, Ohio. A Teddy Bear is a Shih Tzu crossed with a Bichon Frise, usually 8 to 15 pounds full grown, with a plush wavy coat and the rounded face the name comes from. They are gentle, quiet for a small dog, and steady around children and other pets.
Illinois sits a straight shot west of us on I-70 and I-80. A family in the Chicago suburbs is roughly six and a half hours from the farm, and someone down near Carbondale or Cairo is closer to nine. That puts the whole state inside our regional delivery zone, so a puppy can be at your door without a long trip on your end.

Reserve a Teddy Bear Puppy for Your Illinois Home
The puppies below are the ones ready to go home now. Teddy Bear pricing starts at $1,995 and moves with coat type, color, and gender. Reserving happens right on the site with a $200 deposit, which is non-refundable but transfers to another available puppy if your plans change. Financing runs through Credova if you would rather spread the cost out. We do not keep a waitlist, so puppies go first come first served and a puppy listed this morning can be spoken for by tonight. If you want a closer look before you commit, we set up a FaceTime call so you can see the puppy move around.
Every puppy leaves with a three year health guarantee, registration paperwork, a microchip already registered, current vaccinations and dewormings, and a vet exam from Danville Veterinary Clinic. Delivery to Illinois is arranged after the puppy is reserved. If you are still reading up on the breed, our complete guide to Teddy Bear puppies covers what the first few months actually look like.

Teddy Bear Puppy Delivery to Illinois
Once a puppy is reserved, we get on the phone and sort out how to get them to you. There are three ways.
Pickup at the farm. You drive to Fresno, Ohio by appointment and take your puppy home yourself. It is about six and a half hours from Chicago, seven from Peoria, and closer to nine from the southern tip of the state. People who make the trip get to meet the mother, walk through the kennel, and go over the vaccination records and health guarantee in person. You leave with a bag of the food the puppy has been eating and a blanket carrying the mother's scent.
Ground delivery. A professional transport service drives your puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, and this is what most Illinois families choose. Illinois is currently $350, flat to any address in the state. Vans leave Ohio on Tuesday mornings, and with Illinois being a one day drive, most families have their puppy in hand within a day or two of the van pulling out. The puppy rides in an individual carrier, gets a vet check before departure, and you get updates along the way. The climate control matters more than it sounds for this breed. Teddy Bears carry a slightly shortened muzzle from the Shih Tzu side, so they do not handle heat well, and a van that holds a steady temperature through a July run across Indiana is worth the fee on its own.
Flight nanny. A handler flies with your puppy in the cabin, never in cargo, and hands them to you at baggage claim. Most flight nanny deliveries finish the same day. Common Illinois arrivals are O'Hare and Midway in Chicago, Peoria International, Central Illinois Regional in Bloomington, and Abraham Lincoln Capital in Springfield. The puppy has to be at least 8 weeks old, under 20 pounds including the carrier, and traveling with a health certificate. A Teddy Bear clears that weight limit easily at 8 to 15 pounds grown, and a puppy at go home age is well under it. Flight nanny is quoted per flight and costs more than the van, so it makes the most sense if you want the puppy home in hours instead of days.
For most of Illinois we point families toward ground delivery. You are close enough that the drive is short, the flat fee is at our lower tier, and nobody has to take a day off to meet a flight.
About Our Teddy Bear Puppy Breeder Program Serving Illinois
The Puppy Lodge is run by the Nisley family in Coshocton County, Ohio, and we have been raising dogs for over 13 years. Litters are raised across a closed network of local kennels near the farm. We own the adult dogs, every one of them genetically tested and picked for temperament, health, pedigree, and coat genetics, and the breeders in that network raise only our dogs to our standards. Danville Veterinary Clinic comes out weekly to check adults and newborn litters.
With Teddy Bears specifically, two things get extra attention. The cross is prone to separation anxiety because both parent breeds were built to stay glued to a person, so every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation from day 3 through day 16 to build stress tolerance early, and our kids handle and play with them daily. That is a head start, not a cure, and crate work at your end still matters. The other is joint and eye health. Patellar luxation, cataracts, and dental crowding turn up in plenty of small breeds, not just this one, and we screen both sides of the pairing before we ever breed. Our three year written health guarantee covers genetic and congenital conditions.
Illinois has small breed breeders closer to home, and some are good. What we offer is a program where the parents on both sides of the cross are ours and tested, the puppies are handled from day three, and you can look at the exact puppy on video before you put money down.
