Teddy Bear Puppies for Sale in Kentucky
Families searching for Teddy Bear puppies for sale in Kentucky can shop our available Teddy Bears at The Puppy Lodge, a family run program on a five acre farm in Fresno, Ohio. Teddy Bears are a Shih Tzu crossed with a Bichon Frise, usually 8 to 15 pounds grown, with a plush wavy coat, dark round eyes, and the soft floppy ears that gave the breed its name. They are affectionate, quieter than most small dogs, and content to follow you from room to room all day.
Kentucky is one of our closer states. Northern Kentucky sits about three hours from the farm, and even the far western corner near Paducah is around eight, so getting a puppy home is a short trip either way.

Available Teddy Bear Puppies for Kentucky Families
Every puppy below has been examined by our veterinarian from Danville Veterinary Clinic, microchipped, and kept current on vaccinations and dewormings. Each one leaves with a written three year health guarantee that covers genetic and congenital conditions, registration paperwork, a bag of the food they have been eating, and a blanket that carries their mother's scent. Teddy Bear pricing starts at $1,995 and shifts with coat type, color, and gender.
You can reserve any listed puppy online with a $200 deposit, and financing is available through Credova. We do not keep a waitlist, so puppies go first come, first served and a puppy listed in the morning can be spoken for by that afternoon. Once yours is reserved we set up a call to arrange the trip to Kentucky, whether that is delivery to your door, a flight nanny, or a drive out to Ohio.

Teddy Bear Puppy Delivery to Kentucky
There are three ways to bring a puppy home, and we sort out which one makes sense on a call after the reservation is made.
Farm pickup is worth considering for most of Kentucky. Louisville and Lexington are roughly four to five hours from Fresno, and Covington or Newport is closer to three. You come out by appointment, meet the puppy's mother, walk through the kennel, and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee in person before you head back. Families who want to see where their puppy grew up usually choose this one.
Ground delivery is our most popular option and is currently $350, flat to any Kentucky address. A professional transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in an individual carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates along the way. Vans leave on Tuesday mornings, and Kentucky is close enough that most families have their puppy the next day. The climate control matters here in July and August, since Teddy Bears carry a slightly shortened muzzle from the Shih Tzu side and do not handle heat and humidity the way a longer nosed dog does.
Flight nanny service is the fastest route and is quoted per flight rather than at a flat rate. A trained handler carries the puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and meets you at baggage claim, usually the same day. Full grown Teddy Bears top out around 15 pounds, so puppies are comfortably under the 20 pound in-cabin limit including their carrier. We fly into Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International in Hebron, Louisville Muhammad Ali International, and Blue Grass Airport in Lexington. Puppies must be at least eight weeks old and carry a health certificate, and weather delays are always a possibility to plan around.
Given how close Kentucky is, most families here end up either driving out or taking the $350 ground delivery. Flight nanny tends to make more sense for people much farther away.
A Teddy Bear Puppy Breeder Serving Kentucky
The Puppy Lodge has been raising dogs for more than thirteen years. Every parent dog behind our Teddy Bears is owned by us and has been genetically tested and health screened on both the Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise side, with pairings chosen for temperament, structure, coat, and color. Litters are raised across a closed network of local kennels near the farm by breeders who work only with our dogs and follow the same standards we hold ourselves to. Our veterinarian visits on a set weekly schedule to check the adults and the newborn litters.
Teddy Bears bond hard, which is the trade-off of the breed. Left alone too much too early, they can develop separation anxiety. We start building tolerance from the beginning with the ENS protocol on days three through sixteen, then daily handling and play with our children, plus crate and potty training before go-home at eight weeks. That gives you a head start, though the work of building alone time gradually still falls to you at home. If you want the full picture before you decide, read our guide to Teddy Bear puppies.
At three to eight hours out, we are close enough that a Kentucky family can drive up, meet the mother, and see the buildings and run space for themselves rather than taking our word for any of it.
