A:Michigan's big temperature swings actually work fine for most of our breeds. Golden Retrievers are a natural fit because they love snow, water, and everything in between. Pomskies handle cold weather easily with their thick double coat, and Miniature Poodles adapt well to both seasons since they're just as happy on a summer walk as they are lounging inside on a freezing day. Fluffy French Bulldogs are a great pick for Michigan families too, since they're primarily indoor companions and don't mind spending those cold months inside with you. Miniature Dachshunds and Teddy Bears also do well as long as you keep potty breaks short during the worst of winter and give them a coat for outdoor time when temperatures drop.

A:Absolutely, and we love when families make the trip. Visits are by appointment so we can give you our full attention. You'll meet the parent dogs, walk through the kennel, and spend real time with the puppies. It's one thing to see photos online, but holding a puppy and watching how it interacts with your kids is a completely different experience. If traveling isn't in the cards, we also offer virtual tours so you can see exactly how our puppies are raised before making a decision.

A:Pickup day is one of our favorite parts of what we do. You'll spend time with the litter, and we'll walk you through everything in your go-home kit, including vaccination records, your Purina Pro Plan starter bag, and a blanket that carries mom's scent to help your puppy settle in during the ride home. For the drive back to Michigan, we recommend bringing a crate or a travel carrier, some old towels in case of car sickness, and a plan to stop every couple of hours for a quick bathroom break. Most puppies sleep for the majority of the trip.

A:Michigan is practically next door. Most of the state is a 3 to 6 hour drive from our farm, and a lot of families come out by appointment, spend time with the parent dogs, and drive home the same day with their puppy. We're a family of nine, five girls, two boys, and two parents, on five acres in the rolling hills of Central Ohio, and we've been raising puppies here for over 13 years. Our kids are in the whelping room and the play yard every day, so puppies are handled constantly from birth. Our kennel has heated tile floors for winter and geothermal cooling for summer and has been remodeled several times over the years. We're certified through the Purdue University Canine Care Program, one of the few breeders in the country who can say that, and our vet from Danville Veterinary Clinic is at the kennel weekly. Every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation between days 3 and 16, and every parent dog is health and genetic tested.
