Mini Doxiedoodle Puppies for Sale in Virginia

Families searching for Mini Doxiedoodle puppies for sale in Virginia can reserve one directly from The Puppy Lodge, a family run program based in Fresno, Ohio. The Nisley family has been raising dogs for over 13 years. The Mini Doxiedoodle is a Miniature Dachshund crossed with a Miniature Poodle, and most grow to somewhere between 10 and 20 pounds and stand 8 to 12 inches tall, with a wavy to curly coat that sheds lightly.

These are affectionate, clever little dogs that want to be in the middle of whatever the household is doing. The Poodle side makes them quick to learn and eager to work with you. The Dachshund side gives them a sense of humor and a stubborn streak, especially once their nose finds something interesting. They are vocal for their size, so you will hear about the delivery driver and the squirrel on the fence. If you want the full picture before you decide, read our complete guide to the Mini Doxiedoodle.

Virginia sits roughly five to nine hours east of our kennel, with Northern Virginia at the near end and Hampton Roads at the far end. The whole state is inside a single day of driving, which means every one of our transport options works well for Virginia buyers.

Reserve an Available Mini Doxiedoodle Puppy

The puppies shown below are the ones ready to reserve today. Pricing runs from $1,495 to $2,995 and shifts with coat type, color, and gender. A $200 deposit holds a puppy. That deposit is non refundable, but it transfers to another available puppy if your plans change. Financing is available through Credova and you can apply online in a few minutes.

We do not run a waitlist, so puppies are first come, first served. A puppy listed in the morning can be reserved by another family that same afternoon. If nothing here fits, our upcoming litters are open for reservation too, so you can claim a pick before the litter is born.

Every puppy goes home at 8 weeks or older with a veterinary exam from Danville Veterinary Clinic, a microchip, current vaccinations and dewormings, registration paperwork, and a written three year health guarantee. We can set up a FaceTime call so you can watch a puppy move around before you commit. Once a puppy is reserved, we talk through delivery to Virginia on a phone call.

Mini Doxiedoodle Delivery to Virginia

We do not ask you to pick a transport method at checkout. After your puppy is reserved, we call and sort it out together. There are three ways to get a puppy from Ohio to Virginia.

Pickup in Fresno, Ohio. You are welcome to drive out and collect your puppy in person by appointment, Monday through Saturday. Northern Virginia families are usually five to six hours away by way of I-81 and I-70. Roanoke and the Shenandoah Valley run six to seven hours, Richmond is closer to seven, and Virginia Beach or Chesapeake sits around nine. Visiting means you meet the mother, tour the kennel, and go through the vaccination record, microchip registration, and health guarantee face to face. The father is sometimes not on site if an outside stud was used. You leave with a bag of the food your puppy is already eating and a blanket carrying the mother's scent.

Ground Delivery to Your Door. This is what most of our Virginia families choose. A professional pet transport service drives the puppy door to door in a climate controlled van, in its own carrier, with a veterinary check before departure and updates from the road along the way. Virginia falls in our regional pricing tier at around $350. Because the East Coast route runs regularly, Virginia deliveries are usually next day. Nobody has to drive to an airport, which suits families out in the Northern Neck or down along the Eastern Shore where the nearest terminal is not close.

Flight Nanny. A trained handler carries your puppy in the cabin beside them on a commercial flight and hands the puppy to you at baggage claim. No cargo hold, ever. Most flight nanny deliveries finish the same day. Virginia has good options here, including Dulles International and Reagan National in the north, Richmond International in the center, Norfolk International for Hampton Roads, and Roanoke Blacksburg Regional if you are out toward the mountains. The puppy needs to be at least 8 weeks old, under 20 pounds including the carrier, and traveling with a health certificate from a licensed vet. You also need a little flexibility in case weather pushes a flight. Flight nanny is quoted per flight and costs more than ground transport.

Mini Doxiedoodles are easy travelers on this route. They are well under the airline weight limit at go home age, and because they are not a flat faced breed, none of the airline restrictions that affect Bulldogs apply to them. One thing worth knowing is that a puppy with the longer Dachshund style back should be lifted with its chest and hind end supported rather than scooped under the front legs, and both our ground drivers and our nannies handle them that way.

For most of Virginia, ground delivery is the option we point people toward first. At around $350 with typical next day arrival, it is a short and simple run from Ohio. If you live in Northern Virginia, Winchester, or anywhere along the I-81 corridor and you want to see where your puppy came from, the drive out to us is very doable in a day and worth the trip.

Mini Doxiedoodle Puppy Breeder Serving Virginia

The Puppy Lodge is USDA licensed, and our license is a broker license. We own every parent dog, aside from the occasional outside stud that meets the same testing requirements. Litters are raised across a small closed network of kennels near our farm in Coshocton County by breeders who work only with our dogs and follow our health testing, genetic testing, and breeding standards. No puppy comes from anywhere outside that network. Danville Veterinary Clinic visits on a set weekly schedule to check the adult dogs and the newborn litters.

Because we run Miniature Dachshunds and Miniature Poodles as separate health tested programs of our own, we know the history behind both sides of a Mini Doxiedoodle pairing. That matters more with this cross than with most. Dachshunds carry a well documented risk of spinal disc disease tied to the same genetics that give them short legs, and a puppy that inherits the long low build carries some of that predisposition with it. We evaluate structure when we decide on pairings, we tell buyers plainly what the risk is instead of talking around it, and our three year health guarantee covers genetic and congenital conditions including spinal, hip, and elbow problems.

Every puppy goes through the Early Neurological Stimulation protocol from day 3 through day 16, then gets handled and played with daily by the family's kids. Potty training and crate work start before go home day. The buildings have heated tile floors for winter and geothermal cooling for summer, with separate rooms where mothers stay with their litters through those first weeks.

Virginia has plenty of local breeders, and a five to nine hour distance is a fair thing to weigh. What we offer that a small local operation often cannot is ownership and genetic testing of both parent breeds, a vet on a weekly schedule rather than as needed, more than 13 years of records behind the pairings, our Google reviews, and a three year guarantee in writing. If you have questions, call or text us at 330-790-5007 and we will talk it through.

Mini Doxiedoodle FAQs Of Virginia Families

Q: What does a Mini Doxiedoodle puppy cost delivered to Virginia?

A: Our Mini Doxiedoodle puppies run $1,495 to $2,995 depending on coat type, color, and gender. Ground delivery to Virginia is around $350 on top of that. A flight nanny costs more and gets quoted per flight since airfare changes. Pickup at our Ohio kennel adds nothing but your gas.

Q: Will one be happy in an apartment in Arlington or Richmond?

A: Yes, they do well in apartments and condos. They need 30 to 45 minutes of activity a day, and that can be a walk, indoor play, or a training session. Mental work counts as much as physical for this cross, so puzzle toys and scent games go a long way in a smaller space. The one thing to plan for is the barking, since they are talkative and shared walls make that more noticeable.

Q: How careful do I need to be about their back?

A: Careful, but not anxious about it. Keep the dog lean, walk on a harness rather than a collar, and cut down on repetitive jumping on and off furniture. Ramps for the couch and bed help. If you live in one of the narrow three story townhomes common around Northern Virginia, carry the puppy up and down the stairs for the first several months. Reluctance to jump, stiffness after a nap, or yelping when picked up are the early signs worth a vet visit.

Q: Can I hike with one in Shenandoah National Park?

A: Flat and moderate trails suit them fine and they lock onto a scent trail on leash and stay with it, so they enjoy the outing. Steep rocky sections with a lot of scrambling and jumping are harder on a small dog with a long back, and a folding carrier is a good idea for the return leg. Wait until the puppy is grown before any long day out, and watch the heat in Virginia summers since they sit low to the ground where the trail radiates warmth.

Q: Are Mini Doxiedoodles good with kids and other dogs?

A: Generally yes, with socialization started early. Ours are handled daily by children from their first weeks, which gives them a head start. They bond hard to their people and usually settle in with other pets without much drama. Supervise young kids around any small dog, mostly so the dog does not get dropped or squeezed.

Q: Will one work for someone in the house with allergies?

A: No dog is hypoallergenic, and we will not tell you otherwise. What a low shedding coat does is trap loose hair instead of releasing it, which puts less dander into the air. That is often enough for mild or moderate allergies and often not enough for severe ones. F1b puppies carry more Poodle and usually have the tightest curl and lowest shedding. Spending time around the breed is the only way to know for sure.
