Mini Doxiedoodle Puppies for Sale in West Virginia

If you have been looking for Mini Doxiedoodle puppies for sale in West Virginia, our puppies come from a five acre farm in Fresno, Ohio, and West Virginia families are some of our closest neighbors. The Ohio River sits between us and your northern panhandle, so a family in Wheeling can be at our kennel in about two hours. Even the far southern counties near Bluefield are a six hour drive at most.

Mini Doxiedoodles are a Miniature Dachshund crossed with a Miniature Poodle. They finish somewhere around 8 to 12 inches tall and 10 to 20 pounds, with a wavy or curly coat that sheds very little. They are smart, chatty little dogs who want to be part of whatever the household is doing. If you want the full picture of the cross before you decide, we put together everything you should know about Mini Doxiedoodles before bringing one home.

Available Mini Doxiedoodle Puppies

Everything you see below is a puppy that is available right now. Each one leaves at eight weeks or older with a veterinary exam, microchip registration, current shots and dewormings, registration paperwork, a written three year health guarantee, a bag of the food they have been eating, and a blanket that smells like their mother.

You can reserve a puppy straight from this page with a $200 deposit. There is no waitlist, so puppies go in the order they are claimed and a listing can be spoken for the same day it appears. Once a puppy is yours, we call to sort out how you want to get them home, whether that is a drive out to Ohio or delivery to your door in West Virginia.

Puppy Delivery to West Virginia

West Virginia is close enough that most families here have a choice worth thinking about rather than one obvious answer.

Farm pickup. With the kennel two to six hours away depending on where you live, this is the option we point most West Virginia buyers toward. You come out by appointment, meet the mother, walk through the buildings, and we go over the health records, microchip registration, and guarantee with you in person before you head home. Families in the panhandle and along the Ohio River are close enough to make it a half day trip.

Ground delivery. A professional transport service brings your puppy to your door in a climate controlled van, with an individual carrier, a vet check before they leave, and updates along the way. West Virginia sits in our regional pricing tier at a flat $350, and because we are next door your puppy is usually a next day arrival. For families in the mountains who would rather not spend a Saturday driving, or who live somewhere a van reaches easier than an airport does, this is the simpler choice.

Flight nanny. A handler carries your puppy in the cabin beside them, never in cargo, and hands them over at baggage claim. Most of these are done in a single day. West Virginia families usually fly into Yeager Airport in Charleston, Huntington Tri-State, Morgantown Municipal, or North Central West Virginia Airport near Clarksburg. It is priced per flight and costs more than the van, and given the short drive from Ohio it tends to make sense only if your schedule is tight. Mini Doxiedoodles fit this option well, since a grown one stays under the 20 pound cabin limit and none of the airline restrictions on flat faced breeds apply to them.

One thing worth knowing about this cross and travel. Some Mini Doxiedoodles inherit the long Dachshund back, so we keep them settled in a properly sized carrier rather than loose in a vehicle, whichever way they travel. That habit is worth keeping up once they are home.

Mini Doxiedoodle Puppy Breeder Serving West Virginia Families

The Puppy Lodge is run by the Nisley family, a family of nine on a farm in Coshocton County, Ohio. We have been raising dogs for over 13 years. We own all of our parent dogs, and litters are raised across a small closed group of local kennels near us whose breeders work only with our dogs and follow our health testing, genetic testing, and breeding standards. No puppy we sell comes from anywhere outside that group.

Being two to six hours from West Virginia means you can drive out and see it yourself, which is not something you can say about a breeder several states away. We are open Monday through Saturday for visits by appointment, and we do FaceTime calls if you want to see a puppy before you commit. Buildings are climate controlled with heated tile floors through the winter and geothermal cooling in the summer, and mothers have their own rooms to whelp and stay with their litters. Our vet from Danville Veterinary Clinic comes out weekly on a set schedule to check the adults and the new litters.

Because a Mini Doxiedoodle is a Dachshund cross, structure gets weighed in every pairing we make. Dachshunds carry a genetic predisposition to disc disease that comes packaged with the short legged build, and a puppy that inherits that long body inherits some of that risk. We health and genetically test both breeds behind the cross before any pairing, and the three year written guarantee covers genetic and congenital conditions including spinal ones along with hips and elbows. Every puppy goes through the ENS handling protocol from day three to day sixteen, gets played with daily by our kids, and starts crate and potty training before go home day. Questions about a specific pairing are best answered on the phone at 330-790-5007.

Mini Doxiedoodle FAQs Of West Virginia Families

Q: Are Mini Doxiedoodles a good fit for a house with a lot of stairs?

A: Plenty of older homes here have steep stairs and porches, and it is worth planning for. A Mini Doxiedoodle that takes after the Dachshund side has a long back, and repeated jumping and stair climbing puts load on the spine over the years. Carrying them up and down, using ramps at the couch and bed, keeping them lean, and walking them on a harness instead of a collar all help. Ask us about the parents of a puppy you are looking at, since build runs in a pairing.

Q: How much do your Mini Doxiedoodle puppies cost?

A: They run from $1,495 to $2,995. The price moves with coat type, color, and gender rather than being set per litter. The $200 deposit that holds a puppy comes off the total, and it is non refundable but transferable to another available puppy if your plans change. Financing through Credova can be applied for online.

Q: Do they handle West Virginia winters and mountain hikes?

A: Cold weather is manageable for a short trip outside, but this is a small dog with a coat that does not do much insulating, so a sweater for a January walk is reasonable. They need 30 to 45 minutes of activity a day and flat, level walking suits their build better than steep rocky trails or long descents. They will happily track a scent along a creek bank for as long as you let them.

Q: Will a Mini Doxiedoodle bark at everything?

A: They are vocal, and that is the Dachshund side showing. For a dog this size they make a decent watchdog and they will announce the mail carrier, the neighbor's truck, and any deer in the yard. Training from the first week helps a lot, and so does giving them something to think about. Puzzle toys and short scent games take the edge off the barking better than another walk does.

Q: Are they good with kids and other pets?

A: Yes, with socialization started early, which is why ours are handled daily by our children from the first weeks. They tend to bond hard and want to be in the middle of family activity. With a smaller dog and a long back, the usual advice applies about teaching young kids to sit on the floor to hold a puppy rather than picking them up and carrying them around.

Q: We have mild allergies. Is this cross going to work?

A: No dog is hypoallergenic, and we will not tell you otherwise. What a Mini Doxiedoodle has is a low shedding coat that holds loose hair rather than dropping it, which means less dander moving around the house. That is often enough for mild to moderate allergies and often not enough for severe ones. F1b puppies carry more Poodle and usually curl tighter and shed least. Spending time around one is the only way to know for sure.
