A Fluffy Frenchie Made for Delaware Life
A Fluffy Frenchie fits right into life in Delaware, whether you're in a Wilmington neighborhood, a place near Dover, or a cottage down by the shore in Rehoboth or Lewes. They're mellow, affectionate little dogs that don't need much space or exercise, just a short walk and a comfortable spot next to you. In a small, friendly state that's easy to get around, they make a lovely companion for city, suburb, or beach town alike.
What Makes a Fluffy Frenchie Special
Picture a French Bulldog, then swap the short coat for a long, silky one, and you've got a Fluffy Frenchie. Everything else that makes the breed so lovable stays the same: the scrunched-up face, the oversized ears, and a goofy, devoted way about them. The long coat only shows up when a puppy inherits one particular gene from both parents, and because that testing is rare among breeders, true fluffies are hard to find. We test our dogs, so we can tell you which pups will grow up fluffy before they're born.

Getting Your Puppy Home to Delaware
Here's some good news: Delaware is an easy trip from our Ohio farm, so getting your puppy home is simple. You have three ways to do it.
Ground delivery — the most popular choice for Delaware families, since we're only a day's drive away. A professional pet transport company brings your puppy right to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle.
Farm pickup — you're welcome to visit the farm by appointment, meet the parents, and drive your puppy home yourself. Plenty of families enjoy making a little road trip of it.
Flight nanny — if you'd rather fly, a nanny can bring your puppy in the cabin, never in cargo, into Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), which is just over the state line and the main airport most Delaware families use.

Raising a Frenchie in Delaware
Delaware gives you four seasons, but gentle ones, and only summer and winter really call for any planning with a Frenchie.
Summers are warm and humid, which is the season to watch most closely. A flat-faced dog can't cool itself well in muggy air, so on hot days keep your Frenchie inside with the air conditioning during the afternoon, walk in the cooler morning or evening, and always bring water along. That goes double at the beach, where sand and sun get hot fast and shade can be hard to find.
Winters are cold but fairly mild for the region, softened by Delaware Bay and the ocean, with only modest snow most years. Your Frenchie will still want a sweater on chilly walks and shorter outings when it's freezing, but Delaware rarely throws anything a small dog can't handle with a little bundling up.
That leaves the long, comfortable stretches of spring and fall, ideal for a walk together. You might wander the trails at Brandywine Creek State Park near Wilmington, stroll White Clay Creek over by Newark, or take an off-season amble along the boardwalk at the shore.
