Western Pennsylvania: Drive Over for Pickup (Our Suggestion)
If you live around Pittsburgh or elsewhere in western Pennsylvania, we suggest driving over to get your puppy. The trip is about two hours each way from the Pittsburgh area, so a pickup fits easily into one day. You book an appointment, meet the puppy's mother, and walk through the kennel. Before you head home, we sit down together with the shot record, the microchip paperwork, and the health guarantee.
Pickup is open to anyone in the state. Past Harrisburg, though, the drive back and forth takes most of a day or more, and the van is usually the easier choice.
Central and Eastern Pennsylvania: Door Delivery for Around $350
For the rest of the state, we recommend home delivery, the most popular of our three options. Your puppy rides with a professional pet transporter in a climate-controlled van right to your home, and you skip the airport entirely. Anywhere in Pennsylvania, expect a fee of around $350. The vans leave our kennel on Tuesday mornings, and deliveries heading east are typically next-day. We confirm the exact arrival with you ahead of time.
Before the trip, a vet examines your puppy. It travels alone in its carrier, and the driver checks in with you on the way. Holding the temperature steady matters for this breed, because a Frenchie's short nose makes it slow to cool down.
Flight Nanny Into PIT, PHL, MDT, or ABE
A flight nanny is also available. With this option, your puppy sits in the passenger cabin beside a trained handler. It rides in a soft carrier that airlines approve, which fits below the seat. Our Frenchies never fly as cargo. Most nanny trips are finished within a day, with pictures and short videos coming to your phone as they go. You meet the handler at baggage claim at Pittsburgh International (PIT), Philadelphia International (PHL), Harrisburg International (MDT), or Lehigh Valley International (ABE).
For a puppy to fly, it must be 8 weeks of age or older, and its weight plus the carrier's must stay below 20 pounds. Before the flight, a licensed veterinarian fills out its health certificate. Each flight is quoted on its own and comes out higher than the van fee, and a storm can hold up a departure. We are close to Pennsylvania, so you can see how we work in person before or after you reserve. Raising dogs has been part of our family's life for 13-plus years. We own every sire and dam in the program, and when a litter uses an outside stud, that stud has passed the same tests. Some litters are raised in the original kennel on our five-acre property. With Fluffy Frenchies, planning starts with coat genetics. The long-hair gene is recessive, so a puppy shows the fluffy coat only when both parents pass it down. Every dog in our program has its coat, eye color, and furnishings genes DNA tested before it is bred, so before a breeding we can tell whether the pair will give us long-coated puppies and which colors are possible. Our program works with the common Frenchie colors, like blue, pied, cream, fawn, and brindle, plus rarer genetics such as merle, isabella, lilac, and chocolate. Every parent is health screened as well, and we favor dogs that are built soundly and breathe through wide, open nostrils. No screening can rule out every inherited problem, but it cuts the odds a good deal.
