A Fluffy Frenchie Made for New Jersey Life

New Jersey is the most crowded state in the country, and a Fluffy Frenchie is built for exactly that kind of living. Being little, mellow, and perfectly happy without a yard, they do beautifully in a townhouse in Jersey City, a tidy lot in Edison, or a place near the beach in Toms River. A short walk around the block and time on the couch with you is all they ask for. For close-together neighborhoods, they make easy, well-mannered neighbors.

What Makes a Fluffy Frenchie Special

A Fluffy Frenchie is a French Bulldog in every way but the coat. Same flat little face, same tall ears, same big-hearted, comical personality, only wrapped in longer, softer fur. That coat traces back to a single gene, and it takes both parents carrying it to produce a fluffy puppy. Hardly any breeders test for the gene, so a true fluffy is a rare thing to find. We test ours, which means we know which pups in a litter will be fluffy from the very start.

Getting Your Puppy Home to New Jersey

Our farm is in Ohio, a solid drive from New Jersey, so we've made getting your puppy home easy no matter where in the state you live. You have three ways to do it.

Flight nanny — a popular pick for New Jersey families. A nanny flies with your puppy in the cabin into Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), or Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) if you're closer to the shore. Your puppy is never shipped alone in cargo.

Ground delivery — a professional pet transport company drives your puppy right to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle, anywhere from the northern suburbs to Cape May.

Farm pickup — you're always welcome to visit the farm by appointment, meet the parents, and take your puppy home yourself.

Raising a Frenchie in New Jersey

New Jersey gives your Frenchie four real seasons, so both summer and winter call for a bit of planning.

Summers are warm and humid, and the humidity is the part that matters for a flat-faced dog, since damp air makes it harder for them to cool themselves down. On the muggiest days, keep walks to the morning and evening and let the air conditioning do the rest. Down at the shore, in Toms River, Brick, and the beach towns, the ocean breeze takes a bit of the edge off both the summer heat and the winter cold.

Winter brings cold and a fair amount of snow, especially inland and up north. A short-coated dog like a Frenchie feels that, so keep a few habits:

  • Put a warm sweater or coat on your Frenchie for cold-weather walks, and keep them short when it's snowy or biting out.
  • Wipe the road salt off their paws when you come back in, before it irritates their pads.
  • Run a humidifier if your indoor heat leaves the air dry, so their skin doesn't flake.

For a flat, easy walk with your pup, it's hard to beat the Jersey classics. Liberty State Park in Jersey City looks straight out at the Statue of Liberty, and much of the year you can stroll the boardwalk or the sand at Island Beach State Park down the shore.

FAQs Of New Jersey Families

Q:Are Fluffy Frenchies real French Bulldogs?

A:Yes, 100%. The only difference is the longer, soft coat that comes from one gene both parents carry.

Q:How much do Fluffy Frenchies cost?

A:Fluffies cost more than standard Frenchies because they're rare. Ours range from $2,800 to $6,000, depending on color and looks. Financing is available.

Q:Is my deposit refundable?

A:A $200 deposit holds your puppy. The deposit is non-refundable, because once you reserve a puppy, we take it off the market for other families. If something comes up, we'll work with you to move your deposit to another available puppy.

Q:Are Frenchies a good fit for a townhouse or small yard?

A:Yes, and it's one of the reasons they're so popular in a packed state like New Jersey. A Frenchie is perfectly content indoors, doesn't need a yard to burn off energy, and rarely makes a fuss, so life in a townhouse or on a small lot suits them well. Give them a daily walk and some couch time and they're set.

Q:How do Frenchies handle New Jersey winters?

A:Well enough, with a little help. A sweater on cold days, shorter walks when it's snowy, and a quick paw wipe for the road salt will keep them comfortable. Near the shore the winters run a touch milder than they do inland.

Q:When can my puppy come home?

A:The earliest a puppy can go home is 8 weeks old. That gives them enough time with their mom and littermates to grow strong and start life confident.

Q:What comes with my puppy?

A:Every puppy goes home vet-checked, up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped, with health records, a small bag of the food they've been eating, and our written 3-year health guarantee.
