A Fluffy Frenchie Made for Montana Life
You might not picture a little French Bulldog in ranch country, but a Fluffy Frenchie fits Montana life better than you'd think. They're calm, indoor-loving dogs that are perfectly content by the fire while the wind howls outside, and they don't need long hikes or a lot of land to be happy. A short walk on a nice day and a warm lap the rest of the time is exactly their speed, whether you're in town in Missoula or out on a place near Kalispell.
What Makes a Fluffy Frenchie Special
A Fluffy Frenchie is a French Bulldog with one difference you can see at a glance: a longer, softer coat in place of the usual short one. Everything else is classic Frenchie, from the flat face and big ears to the easygoing, people-loving nature. The fluffy coat comes from one gene that both parents have to carry, and because so few breeders test for it, real fluffies are uncommon. We test our dogs, so we always know which puppies in a litter will be fluffy ahead of time.

Getting Your Puppy Home to Montana
Montana is one of the farthest states from our farm in Ohio, but that's never a problem, and we place puppies with Montana families regularly. You have three ways to bring yours home.
Flight nanny — the usual choice for Montana, given the distance. A nanny flies with your puppy in the cabin, never in cargo, into Billings Logan International Airport (BIL), Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN), or Missoula Montana Airport (MSO). It's the quickest, easiest trip for the puppy.
Ground delivery — a professional pet transport company can drive your puppy to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle, which is a good option even for the more remote parts of the state.
Farm pickup — you're always welcome to visit the farm in Ohio by appointment if you'd like to meet the litter and make the trip yourself.

Raising a Frenchie Under the Big Sky
Montana hands you two very different seasons to plan for, and for a Frenchie the winter is the one that counts.
Winters here are long and bitterly cold, colder than almost anywhere else a Frenchie lives. In places like Great Falls and Butte the daytime highs sit near freezing or below for weeks, and the snow piles deep. A short-coated dog simply isn't built for that, so in the coldest stretch your Frenchie becomes a cozy indoor dog:
- Bundle them in a warm coat and boots for potty breaks, and keep those trips quick when it's well below freezing.
- Let them do their real living indoors during a cold snap. Frenchies are more than happy to nap by the heat all day.
- Wipe snow and road salt off their feet when they come in, and run a humidifier so the dry winter air doesn't chap their skin.
The reward comes in summer, and it's worth the wait. Montana summers are warm but dry, with cool evenings and none of the mugginess that wears on a flat-faced dog back east. It's the perfect time for an easy walk along the River's Edge Trail in Great Falls or the Clark Fork in Missoula, with the mountains standing over you the whole way.
