A Fluffy Frenchie Made for Vermont Life

A Fluffy Frenchie fits right into Vermont life, whether you're in Burlington, Montpelier, or a small town up in the Green Mountains. These are indoor-loving dogs, content with a short walk and a long nap somewhere soft. They don't need a big yard or lots of exercise, just your company and a warm lap. For a family after a devoted, mellow companion, it's hard to beat a Frenchie.

What Makes a Fluffy Frenchie Special

Think of a Fluffy Frenchie as a French Bulldog in a longer coat. Everything people love about the breed is here, just wrapped in long, plush fur instead of the short, smooth kind. That look comes from a single recessive gene few breeders test for, which is why real fluffies are hard to come by. Because we test ours, we know which puppies will grow that coat well before they're born.

Getting Your Puppy Home to Vermont

It's a good distance from our Ohio farm to Vermont, but getting your puppy home is simple, and we do it all the time. You have three ways to go about it.

Flight nanny — the option most Vermont families choose. A nanny carries your puppy in the cabin the whole way, never in cargo, into Burlington International Airport (BTV), the state's main airport. The puppy stays right there with the nanny, start to finish.

Ground delivery — a professional pet transport company can drive your puppy right to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle, anywhere in Vermont.

Farm pickup — you're always welcome to come meet the parents and take your puppy home yourself. You can drive in, or fly into one of three nearby airports and make a short trip out to the farm: Akron-Canton is about an hour and 20 minutes away, Columbus about an hour and a half, and Pittsburgh about two hours. Just set up a time with us first.

Maple, Mud, and Snow

Vermont winters are long and snowy, this being ski country, and a Fluffy Frenchie's short coat isn't built for that kind of deep cold. When the snow is really coming down, plan on short trips outside and a lot of time curled up somewhere warm. Most fluffies wouldn't have it any other way.

Spring arrives slowly here, in a stretch Vermonters just call mud season, when the snow melts, the dirt roads turn soft, and the sugarhouses fill with the steam of boiling maple sap. It's the easiest season of all for a Frenchie, give or take a paw-wipe at the door after a muddy walk.

Summers are green and pleasant, warm enough to enjoy but rarely the kind of heat that troubles a flat-faced dog. Then comes fall, when the whole state lights up with color. An easy walk along the Burlington waterfront or a loop past a covered bridge makes a fine outing for a Frenchie, with plenty of time to enjoy the view.

FAQs Of Vermont Families

Q:Are Fluffy Frenchies real French Bulldogs?

A:Yes, 100%. The only difference is the longer, soft coat that comes from one gene both parents carry.

Q:How much do Fluffy Frenchies cost?

A:Fluffies cost more than standard Frenchies because they're rare. Ours range from $2,800 to $6,000, depending on color and looks. Financing is available.

Q:Is my deposit refundable?

A:A $200 deposit holds your puppy. The deposit is non-refundable, because once you reserve a puppy, we take it off the market for other families. If something comes up, we'll work with you to move your deposit to another available puppy.

Q:How does delivery to Vermont work?

A:Vermont is a good way from our Ohio farm, so most families choose a flight nanny, who flies with your puppy in the cabin, never in cargo, into Burlington International Airport (BTV), the state's main airport. A specialized pet transport service can also drive your puppy right to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle, or you're welcome to pick up at the farm in person.

Q:Are Fluffy Frenchies good with kids?

A:They make a wonderful family dog. A Frenchie is sturdy enough for the rough-and-tumble of kids and gentle enough to trust around them, and more than anything it just wants to be where the family is. Teach little ones to handle the puppy kindly and let it rest when it needs to, and a Frenchie will happily become one of the kids' favorite companions.

Q:When can my puppy come home?

A:The earliest a puppy can go home is 8 weeks old. That gives them enough time with their mom and littermates to grow strong and start life confident.

Q:What comes with my puppy?

A:Every puppy goes home vet-checked, up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped, with health records, a small bag of the food they've been eating, and our written 3-year health guarantee.
