A Fluffy Frenchie Made for Kansas Life

A Fluffy Frenchie is an easy fit for Kansas living, whether you're in a Wichita neighborhood, a Johnson County suburb, or a farm town out on the prairie. They're calm, affectionate little dogs that don't need much room or exercise, just a short walk and a comfortable spot beside you. For a family with a busy schedule or a quiet house on the plains, a Frenchie is a low-maintenance, big-hearted companion.

What Makes a Fluffy Frenchie Special

Underneath the long, soft coat, a Fluffy Frenchie is every bit a French Bulldog. Same squishy face, same big bat ears, same stocky little frame, and the same affectionate, slightly clownish personality Frenchie people fall for. The long coat comes from a recessive gene that both mom and dad have to carry, and since most breeders never test for it, fluffies remain something special. We test ours, so we know from the first days which puppies in a litter will grow up with that long coat.

Getting Your Puppy Home to Kansas

Kansas sits a good way west of our Ohio farm, but we send puppies out there regularly and make it easy. You have three ways to bring yours home.

Flight nanny — a favorite with Kansas families. A nanny keeps your puppy in the cabin the entire flight, never in cargo, and lands at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT) or Kansas City International Airport (MCI), which sits just across the Missouri line and serves the whole eastern side of the state.

Ground delivery — a professional pet transport company can drive your puppy right to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle, no matter which corner of Kansas you call home.

Farm pickup — you're always welcome to visit the farm in Ohio by appointment, meet the parents, and take your puppy home yourself.

Raising a Frenchie on the Kansas Plains

Kansas weather covers a wide range, with hot summers, cool-to-cold winters, and plenty of wind and big prairie skies in between. None of it is hard on a Frenchie as long as you plan around the two hot and cold stretches.

Summers get properly hot, especially out in central and western Kansas, and that's the season to watch. A flat-faced dog can't cool itself down well, so keep your Frenchie in the air conditioning through the hottest hours, walk early or late in the day, and always bring water. It's worth remembering that eastern Kansas runs more humid than the drier west, and humid heat is the harder kind for a short-nosed dog to cope with.

Winters bring cold and some snow, though usually less than you'd get farther north. A sweater will keep your Frenchie comfortable on chilly walks, and short outings are the rule once it turns bitter. When a storm or a stiff prairie wind blows through, your Frenchie will be more than content to stay inside, which is exactly where they'd rather be anyway.

Spring and fall are the sweet spot, mild and made for a walk. You might take a gentle loop through the tallgrass at Konza Prairie in the Flint Hills near Manhattan, or stroll the Arkansas River path in Wichita by the Keeper of the Plains.

FAQs Of Kansas Families

Q:Are Fluffy Frenchies real French Bulldogs?

A:Yes, 100%. The only difference is the longer, soft coat that comes from one gene both parents carry.

Q:How much do Fluffy Frenchies cost?

A:Fluffies cost more than standard Frenchies because they're rare. Ours range from $2,800 to $6,000, depending on color and looks. Financing is available.

Q:Is my deposit refundable?

A:A $200 deposit holds your puppy. The deposit is non-refundable, because once you reserve a puppy, we take it off the market for other families. If something comes up, we'll work with you to move your deposit to another available puppy.

Q:How does a Frenchie do when Kansas storms roll in?

A:Just fine, as long as they're inside with you. Frenchies are indoor dogs by nature, so a windy day or a passing thunderstorm is no trouble at all. Some dogs get uneasy with thunder, so a calm spot and a little reassurance go a long way.

Q:Can a Frenchie handle the Kansas summer heat?

A:Yes, with sensible care. The main thing is not to overdo it on hot days: let them rest indoors when the sun is high, save activity for the cooler ends of the day, and never leave them in a parked car, even briefly. On the muggy days that eastern Kansas gets, take extra care, since humidity makes the heat tougher on them.

Q:When can my puppy come home?

A:The earliest a puppy can go home is 8 weeks old. That gives them enough time with their mom and littermates to grow strong and start life confident.

Q:What comes with my puppy?

A:Every puppy goes home vet-checked, up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped, with health records, a small bag of the food they've been eating, and our written 3-year health guarantee.
