A Fluffy Frenchie Made for Utah Life

A Fluffy Frenchie fits in just about anywhere in Utah, from a Salt Lake City condo to a place in Provo to a house down in St. George. These are homebodies who love a short walk and then a long nap somewhere comfortable. They don't need a big yard or hours of exercise, only your company and a warm lap to claim. For a family that wants a devoted, easygoing companion, you can't go wrong with a Frenchie.

What Makes a Fluffy Frenchie Special

What turns a French Bulldog into a Fluffy Frenchie? A single recessive gene, and nothing else. It gives the pup a long, silky coat instead of the breed's usual short one, and since that gene is rare and seldom tested for, true fluffies don't come along often. Beyond the coat, a fluffy is a French Bulldog in full, right down to the snub nose and the outsized personality. Because we test our dogs, we know which puppies will be fluffy well before they're born.

Getting Your Puppy Home to Utah

Utah sits a long way west of our Ohio farm, but getting your puppy home is simple, and we do it all the time. You have three ways to go about it.

Flight nanny — the option most Utah families choose. A nanny carries your puppy in the cabin the whole way, never in cargo, on a nonstop flight into Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). For families down south, St. George Regional Airport (SGU) is the closer arrival. It's an easy trip for the puppy.

Ground delivery — a professional pet transport company can drive your puppy right to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle, anywhere in Utah.

Farm pickup — you're always welcome to come meet the parents and take your puppy home yourself. You can drive in, or fly into one of three nearby airports and make a short trip out to the farm: Akron-Canton is about an hour and 20 minutes away, Columbus about an hour and a half, and Pittsburgh about two hours. Just set up a time with us first.

Snow Up North, Sun Down South

Utah is really two climates in one. Up north along the Wasatch Front, winters are cold and famously snowy, the kind of powder that packs the ski resorts above Salt Lake City and Park City. Your Fluffy Frenchie won't be riding the lifts with you, and that's just as well, because this is a dog made for the lodge, not the mountain. A Frenchie's single coat is no match for deep cold, so keep winter outings brief, layer on a sweater, and let it hold down a spot by the fire while you play in the snow.

Summers are hot and dry across the state, and down in the red-rock country around St. George and Zion, hotter still. Dry heat sits a little easier on a flat-faced dog than the muggy kind, but it's still a lot to handle, so keep walks to the early morning, bring water along, and mind the high-desert sun, which is stronger than most people expect. A shady rest and a cool floor go a long way on a summer afternoon.

Spring and fall are the easy seasons, and the best time to get outside together. A gentle loop along the Jordan River Parkway in the city or a short, level desert trail is about perfect for a Frenchie, taken slow with plenty of time to stop and sniff.

FAQs Of Utah Families

Q:Are Fluffy Frenchies real French Bulldogs?

A:Yes, 100%. The only difference is the longer, soft coat that comes from one gene both parents carry.

Q:How much do Fluffy Frenchies cost?

A:Fluffies cost more than standard Frenchies because they're rare. Ours range from $2,800 to $6,000, depending on color and looks. Financing is available.

Q:Is my deposit refundable?

A:A $200 deposit holds your puppy. The deposit is non-refundable, because once you reserve a puppy, we take it off the market for other families. If something comes up, we'll work with you to move your deposit to another available puppy.

Q:How does delivery to Utah work?

A:Utah is a good way from our Ohio farm, so most families go with a flight nanny, who flies with your puppy in the cabin, never in cargo, on a nonstop into Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), or into St. George Regional Airport (SGU) in the south. A specialized pet transport service can also drive your puppy right to your door in a climate-controlled vehicle, or you're welcome to pick up at the farm in person.

Q:Are Fluffy Frenchies good with kids?

A:They're wonderful with kids. Frenchies are patient, sturdy, and playful without being hyper, which makes them a great match for families with children. As with any dog, it's smart to teach little ones to be gentle and to give the puppy quiet time when it needs it, but a Frenchie's easygoing nature puts it among the most kid-friendly breeds around.

Q:When can my puppy come home?

A:The earliest a puppy can go home is 8 weeks old. That gives them enough time with their mom and littermates to grow strong and start life confident.

Q:What comes with my puppy?

A:Every puppy goes home vet-checked, up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped, with health records, a small bag of the food they've been eating, and our written 3-year health guarantee.
