You won't come across many Fluffy Frenchies. The long, silky coat only turns up when a puppy inherits the same rare gene from each parent, and most breeders never test for it, so true fluffies are scarce. Coat aside, a fluffy is every inch a French Bulldog: flat-faced, snuffly, and stubbornly devoted to its people. We test our dogs, so we know which puppies in a litter will be fluffy before they're born.
Getting Your Puppy Home to Wisconsin
Wisconsin is an easy trip from our Ohio farm, only about a day's drive, so you've got a few good ways to bring your puppy home.

Farm pickup — you're always welcome to come meet the parents and take your puppy home yourself. You can drive in, or fly into one of three nearby airports and make a short trip out to the farm: Akron-Canton is about an hour and 20 minutes away, Columbus about an hour and a half, and Pittsburgh about two hours. Just set up a time with us first.
Flight nanny — if you'd rather fly, a nanny carries your puppy in the cabin the whole way, never in cargo, on the short nonstop into Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE). Madison's Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) and Green Bay's Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) work well too.
Cold Winters, Warm Lake Summers
Wisconsin gives a Frenchie the full sweep of seasons, and both ends of it ask for a little care. Winters are long, cold, and snowy, more so inland and up north, and while some of that snow rolls in off Lake Michigan, all of it means the same thing for a flat-faced dog: winter is indoor season. Keep outings short, put a coat on against the chill, and let your Frenchie do most of its lounging by the heater.
Summers swing warm and sometimes sticky, especially around Milwaukee and Madison. Heat and humidity are hard on a short-nosed dog, so save walks for the cooler parts of the day, keep water handy, and let them wait out muggy afternoons in the air conditioning.
In between, the state is at its best, and the water is a big part of it. Spring and fall, along with the milder summer mornings, are the time to get outside together, whether that's the Milwaukee lakefront, a loop around one of Madison's lakes, or a slow amble somewhere up north.
