Families searching for puppies for sale in Pennsylvania are some of our closest neighbors. Whether you're in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Allentown, or Erie, the mix of snowy winters and warm summers across the state means picking a breed that fits your lifestyle really matters. Pennsylvania families tend to be active, outdoorsy people, and that lines up well with the breeds we raise. We deliver puppies to every corner of the state, from the western border towns to the Poconos and everywhere in between. If you've been looking for a puppy raised the right way, we'd love to talk with you about what we have available.

How Puppy Delivery Works To Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania is close enough that a lot of families choose to drive out to our farm in Ohio and pick up their puppy in person. The closest parts of western PA are about an hour away, and even Philadelphia is roughly a five to six hour drive. Ground transport is another great option. Our climate-controlled delivery vans bring your puppy right to your door anywhere in the state. For families who prefer to fly, our flight nanny service puts your puppy in-cabin with a dedicated handler, never in cargo, and you meet them at your local airport. Flight nanny service is available into an airport near you. Some families also fly into Columbus, which is about an hour and a half from the farm, and combine the trip with a pickup visit.

Ground Transport

We utilize a puppy delivery service to deliver your puppy anywhere in the country by delivery van. These vans are climate-controlled and the puppies are well taken care of on their journey to your home in Pennsylvania. This is our most popular option for delivering puppies and gives your puppy a safe and calm ride right to your home.

In Person Pickup

If you’re willing to make the trip, you can come right to our home and kennel and pick the puppy up yourself. This option lets you meet the puppy, their puppy parents, and see our kennel in person. We openly allow people to visit our kennel by appointment and let them see our breeding operation and see for themselves why we are a step above your average breeder.

Flight Nanny Delivery

You can have your puppy flown into a nearby commercial airport by a professional puppy flight nanny. Your puppy will sit right next to the flight nanny the entire flight and will never be stored with cargo or luggage. Just as with ground transport, your puppy will be actively cared for and looked after until you can pick them up at the airport. This option is more expensive but gets your puppy to you in the quickest time possible if you are across the country. See a full list of Pennsylvania airports we can fly a puppy into below.

FAQs Of Pennsylvania Families

Q:Which of your breeds do best with Pennsylvania's cold winters and humid summers?

A:Golden Retrievers are a natural fit here. They love the snow, handle the summer heat fine with proper shade and water, and thrive with active families who hike the state parks. Pomskies do great in colder weather too, and their energy level matches well with families who spend time outdoors year-round. Miniature Poodles and Teddy Bears both adapt easily to Pennsylvania's seasons since they do well in all kinds of weather and are just as happy on a long walk as they are curled up inside. Fluffy French Bulldogs are a fantastic pick for PA families, especially in the cities. They're primarily indoor dogs, so the winter cold isn't a concern, and they don't need a big yard to be happy.

Q:Can I visit your facility before buying?

A:Absolutely, and we love when families make the trip. Visits are by appointment so we can give you our full attention. You'll meet the parent dogs, walk through the kennel, and spend real time with the puppies. It's one thing to see photos online, but holding a puppy and watching how it interacts with your kids is a completely different experience. If traveling isn't in the cards, we also offer virtual tours so you can see exactly how our puppies are raised before making a decision.

Q:What's it like picking up a puppy at your farm?

A:Pickup day is one of our favorite parts of this whole process. You'll get to meet the full litter, spend time with your puppy, and watch how they interact with their siblings. Before you head home, we'll walk you through the go-home kit, answer any last-minute questions, and make sure you feel totally prepared. For the drive back into PA, we always recommend bringing a crate, a few towels, and planning a couple of quick stops. Most puppies sleep for the majority of the ride, especially if you bring along the blanket with mom's scent.

Q:Why Families in Pennsylvania Choose The Puppy Lodge

A:For a lot of Pennsylvania families we're basically the local breeder. Western PA is about an hour away and even Philadelphia is only a 5 to 6 hour drive, so come out by appointment and see it yourself. We're a family of nine, five girls, two boys, and two parents, on five acres in the rolling hills of Central Ohio, raising puppies for more than 13 years. Our kids are in the whelping room and the play yard every day, so puppies are handled constantly from birth. The kennel has heated tile floors for winter and geothermal cooling for summer and has been remodeled several times because the environment our dogs live in is where it matters. We're certified through the Purdue University Canine Care Program, one of the few breeders in the country who can say that, and our vet from Danville Veterinary Clinic is at the kennel weekly. Every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation between days 3 and 16, and every parent dog is health and genetic tested. Ground delivery to Pittsburgh, Philly, or Erie is available too.
