A:Pickup day is one of our favorite parts of this whole process. You'll meet the full litter, spend time with your puppy, and see the parent dogs before you leave. Every puppy goes home with a go-home kit that includes a blanket carrying mom's scent, which makes the car ride so much calmer. We recommend bringing a small crate for the drive back and planning a couple of potty stops along the way, especially if you're coming from the eastern part of the state.

A:Virginia is only 4 to 8 hours from our farm, close enough that a lot of families drive out, meet the parent dogs, and bring their puppy home the same day. Here's what you'd walk into. We're a family of nine, five girls, two boys, and two parents, raising puppies on five acres in the rolling hills of Central Ohio for more than 13 years. Our kids are in the whelping room and the play yard every day, so puppies are handled from birth by people of every age and energy level. Our kennel has heated tile floors for winter and geothermal cooling for summer and has been remodeled several times because that's not the place to cut corners. We're certified through the Purdue University Canine Care Program, one of the few breeders in the country who can say that, and our vet from Danville Veterinary Clinic is at the kennel weekly. Every puppy goes through Early Neurological Stimulation between days 3 and 16, and all parent dogs are health and genetic tested.
