Golden Retriever Puppies for Sale in California
The Golden Retriever puppies for sale in California on this page come from The Puppy Lodge in Fresno, Ohio, a small town in Coshocton County that shares nothing but a name with the Fresno in the Central Valley. Every puppy has tested parents and is vet checked, microchipped, and current on vaccinations before it leaves. Our kennel is 32 to 38 hours from California by road, so we usually suggest a flight nanny to a nearby airport, and ground delivery by van is also available.

Golden Retriever Puppies Ready for California Homes
Below are the Golden Retrievers available now, plus any upcoming litters where you can reserve a pick before the puppies are born. Each Golden starts at $1,995, and the final price comes down to color, coat, and gender. Reserving takes a $200 deposit, and while it can't be refunded, you can put it toward another available puppy. Since we have no waitlist, a Golden you have your eye on can be taken by another family the same day. Credova financing is available, and a FaceTime call lets you watch a puppy play before you decide. We can fly or drive any of these puppies out to California.

Getting Your Golden Retriever Home to California
After you reserve, we pick the delivery method with you on a phone call. All three options include a bag of the food your puppy eats now, to make the switch easier, and a blanket with its mother's scent.
Flight Nanny to California Airports (Our Recommendation)
We recommend a flight nanny for most of California, since the trip is usually done the same day instead of taking 2 to 3 days by road. Your puppy flies in the cabin with a trained handler, in an airline-approved soft carrier under the seat, and never goes in cargo. Your handler sends photos and videos along the way, and your puppy is handed over at baggage claim. Good airports to fly into include Los Angeles International (LAX), San Francisco International (SFO), San Diego International (SAN), Sacramento International (SMF), and Fresno Yosemite International (FAT).
The price is higher than the van and depends on the flight. To fly, a puppy must be 8 weeks or older and under 20 pounds counting the carrier, with a vet health certificate arranged ahead of time. Golden puppies grow quickly, so flying works best soon after 8 weeks, before a puppy outgrows that limit. Flights are sometimes pushed back by weather, so a little flexibility around the travel date helps.
Ground Delivery by Van
Ground delivery to California costs around $450, and a climate-controlled van brings your puppy to your door, which helps during the hot months inland. Vans head out from Fresno on Tuesday mornings and take 2 to 3 days to reach the West Coast, depending on the route. This is a good choice if you would rather avoid the airport or if your puppy is over the flight weight limit.
Pickup in Fresno, Ohio
You can also pick up at our kennel by appointment, meet the mother, and review your puppy's records, microchip, and guarantee with us face to face. With a 32 to 38 hour drive each way, pickup only makes sense if you already plan to be in Ohio.
Golden Retriever Puppy Breeder Serving California
The Nisleys have raised dogs in Coshocton County for over 13 years, and our Golden litters come from a closed group of certified breeders near the farm who work only with our dogs. Both parents are screened before a pairing, hips and elbows included, and we weigh structure because joints are a known risk in a large breed. Danville Veterinary Clinic visits weekly and examines each litter more than once.
Puppies go through ENS from day 3 to 16 and start crate and potty training before going home. Goldens keep maturing until 18 to 24 months, and ours get outside to play every day to build lean muscle. Ohio is a long way from California, so the reason to choose us comes down to that care and our written three-year guarantee for genetic and congenital conditions.
