Golden Retriever Puppies for Sale in New Jersey

New Jersey is roughly 7 to 9 hours east of our farm by road, close enough that our Golden Retriever puppies for sale in New Jersey typically arrive the day after the delivery van leaves Ohio. The Puppy Lodge is a family-run program in Coshocton County, around 80 miles east of Columbus. Each Golden goes home vet-checked and microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and dewormings, and backed by a written three-year health guarantee.

Our current Goldens are listed below. A Golden from us starts at $1,995, and color, coat, and gender can raise the price from there. You can hold a puppy with a $200 deposit. We can't refund the deposit, though it can be switched to another available Golden if plans change.

We don't run a waitlist, so a Golden goes to whoever reserves first, sometimes the same day it's posted. You can also reserve a pick from a litter that hasn't been born yet, ask for a FaceTime call before deciding, or apply online for Credova financing. Any puppy here can be delivered to your New Jersey home.

How Our Golden Retrievers Get to New Jersey

We settle on the travel plan with you by phone after the reservation. No matter how it travels, your Golden comes with some of the food it has been eating in Ohio and a blanket that smells like its mother.

Home Delivery to New Jersey (Our Recommendation)

For New Jersey, the van is the option we'd pick. It heads out of Fresno on a Tuesday morning, and a Wednesday arrival is typical. Your puppy has a vet check before the trip, rides in its own carrier in a climate-controlled van, and is brought right to your door, with updates sent on the way. For a New Jersey address, expect to pay around $350.

Flight Nanny to Newark or Philadelphia

Flying is quicker, and the nanny usually has your puppy with you on the same day it leaves. In the cabin, your puppy stays in an airline-approved carrier under the nanny's seat and never goes in cargo. You'll meet at baggage claim at Newark Liberty International (EWR) in North Jersey or Philadelphia International (PHL), which is close to most of South Jersey. Expect a higher price than the van, with each flight quoted on its own. Flying also requires a health certificate from a licensed vet and some flexibility if weather delays a flight.

The weight rule matters more for Goldens than for most breeds. A puppy has to be at least 8 weeks old and under 20 pounds with its carrier, and Golden puppies grow fast, so bring up flying early on the call if you want it.

Picking Up in Ohio

Driving to Fresno for pickup is another option, by appointment. From New Jersey it's a long drive each way, so you may want to plan an overnight stop. While you're here, you'll meet your puppy and its mother. The father may be away if we used an outside stud for the litter. Before you start the drive back east, we'll sit down with you to review the vaccination records, microchip, and guarantee.

Golden Retriever Puppy Breeder Serving New Jersey from Ohio

Our family of nine, the Nisleys, has raised dogs for 13-plus years in Coshocton County. We own nearly all the parent dogs, and any outside stud carries the same testing. The litters are raised near the farm by a small, closed circle of Puppy Lodge certified breeders who work only with our dogs. Both parents of every Golden pairing are screened for hips and elbows, and we factor in structure because joints matter in a large breed.

Each Golden litter is looked over more than once by our Danville Veterinary Clinic vet during weekly kennel visits. Every puppy has Early Neurological Stimulation on days 3 through 16 and time outside each day for lean muscle, and we start crate and potty training before go-home. That screening and early care are the reason to look a day's drive west for your Golden.

FAQs Of New Jersey Families Adopting Golden Retrievers

Q: Will a Golden Retriever do well in a New Jersey apartment or townhouse?

A: It can if the daily exercise gets done. Goldens need 60 to 90 minutes of activity each day, so plan on brisk walks plus fetch or a run at the park, not a slow stroll around the building. They also struggle with long stretches alone, which matters if you commute into New York City or Philadelphia. A dog walker, doggy daycare, or someone home at midday makes a big difference.

Q: Can we take our Golden to the Jersey Shore?

A: A breed built to fetch birds out of cold water usually takes to the Shore quickly. Many Shore towns restrict dogs on the beach in summer, so check the rules for the town you're visiting before you go. A Golden's drop ears hold moisture, so dry them well after each swim. Ear infections are common in Goldens, and one that has started needs treatment from your vet.

Q: What should we expect with Golden Retriever shedding?

A: Plan on finding Golden hair around the house all year, with a much heavier round each spring and fall as the undercoat releases. A good routine is a brushing session two or three times a week, stepping up to daily during those heavier sheds. Keep a deshedding tool in the house from the first day, and work through the feathering on the legs, chest, and tail, since mats form there first.

Q: How big will our Golden Retriever get?

A: An adult male Golden usually weighs 65 to 75 pounds, and a female weighs about 55 to 65. Most reach full height around their first birthday but keep adding muscle until 18 to 24 months. Feed measured meals rather than leaving food out, and skip hard, high-impact exercise while the joints are still developing. Adult size and common health problems both get a closer look in our complete guide to Golden Retrievers.

Q: What is covered by your Golden health guarantee?

A: Our guarantee is in writing for three years and applies to genetic and congenital conditions such as hip or elbow dysplasia. Parent screening cuts down the chance of many inherited problems, but it can't promise a dog will stay healthy for its whole life. Cancer is the biggest health concern in this breed, which has higher rates of certain cancers than most other breeds, and no screening can rule it out.
