Golden Retriever Puppies for Sale in Minnesota

Each of our Golden Retriever puppies for sale in Minnesota is vet checked and microchipped before it leaves, and it comes with its own health record and a written three-year health guarantee. The Puppy Lodge is in Fresno, Ohio, in Coshocton County, which puts us about 12 to 18 hours by road from Minnesota. For families that far west, we bring the puppy to you by ground van or with a flight nanny into Minneapolis-Saint Paul.

Golden Retriever Puppies Available to Minnesota Homes

Every Golden Retriever puppy below can be reserved online with a $200 deposit, which is non-refundable but can move to another available puppy. Our Goldens start at $1,995, and each puppy's color, coat, and gender affect its final price.

There is no waitlist, so a Golden shown here goes to the first family to reserve it, and picks from upcoming litters can be claimed early. We can set up a FaceTime call before you decide, and Credova offers financing you can apply for online. We deliver all of these puppies to Minnesota.

Golden Retriever delivered to Minnesota

Minnesota Golden Retriever Delivery

We pick the travel method with you on a phone call after you reserve. Every option includes a bag of your Golden's current food and a blanket with its mother's scent.

Ground Delivery Across Minnesota

Ground delivery, our most popular option, runs around $450 to Minnesota. Before leaving, your Golden gets a vet check, then rides in its own carrier in a climate-controlled van with a professional pet transporter, who sends you updates. A van leaves Fresno each Tuesday morning, and the drive takes roughly 12 hours to the Rochester area and closer to 18 for towns near the Canadian border. We confirm your arrival day on the call.

Flight Nanny to MSP, Duluth, or Rochester

A trained nanny flies with your puppy in the cabin, never in cargo, in an airline-approved soft carrier under the seat. You meet them at baggage claim at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International (MSP), or at Duluth International (DLH) or Rochester International (RST) if closer. Most nanny trips wrap up the same day, though you pay more than you would for the van, based on a quote for your flight.

Your puppy needs to be 8 weeks or older with a vet health certificate, and the puppy and its carrier together have to come in under 20 pounds. Goldens grow fast, so a bigger puppy can pass that mark before its travel date. Winter storms can delay flights, so keep some flexibility in your plans.

Picking Up at Our Ohio Farm

If you would rather drive to Fresno, book a pickup appointment and you'll meet your puppy and its mother while we go over its shot records, microchip, and guarantee. It suits families in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky best, and from Minnesota the drive is 12 hours or more each way.

Our Suggestion for Minnesota

Near the Twin Cities, Duluth, or Rochester, a flight nanny is the fastest choice while your puppy is still small enough. For the rest of the state, or for a Golden close to the weight limit, we recommend ground delivery.

Ohio Golden Retriever Puppy Breeder Serving Minnesota

The Puppy Lodge belongs to the Nisley family, who bring more than 13 years of experience raising dogs. We own the parent dogs, other than an occasional outside stud with matching testing, and a small closed network of Puppy Lodge certified breeders near the farm raises our litters. For each Golden pairing, we look at both parents' genetic testing and their hip and elbow evaluations, along with structure, which matters in a large breed with joint risk.

Our early care is the reason to bring a puppy this far, starting with weekly Danville Veterinary Clinic visits that let us see each Golden litter more than once. Early Neurological Stimulation runs on every puppy between day 3 and day 16. Puppies also play outside daily to build lean muscle in a breed that keeps growing until 18 months to 2 years. Crate and potty training get started before each puppy's trip west.

FAQs Of Minnesota Families Adopting Golden Retrievers

Q: Can a Golden Retriever puppy handle a Minnesota winter?

A: An adult Golden's thick double coat, with its insulating undercoat, is built for cold weather. A young puppy needs more care, so keep trips outside short on subzero days and wipe its paws after walks on salted sidewalks. The 60 to 90 minutes of daily exercise still has to happen in January, so plan on indoor fetch, training sessions, and puzzle toys when it is too cold for long walks.

Q: Is a Golden a good fit for lake and cabin weekends?

A: Swimming comes naturally to most Goldens, since the breed was developed to retrieve from water and its oily outer coat repels water. The thing to watch is water in those drop ears. After a swim, dry them well, and look inside them once a week. If you notice redness or an odor, have your vet look at it, because an ear infection needs treatment and won't clear up with cleaning alone.

Q: Is there a health guarantee on your Goldens?

A: Yes. Every Golden goes home with a written three-year guarantee against genetic and congenital conditions, and that coverage extends to hip and elbow problems. Testing both parents makes many inherited conditions less likely in our puppies. It can't rule out cancer, though, and Goldens develop certain cancers more often than most breeds. The details of our testing are easier to cover on a phone call, and we're happy to go through them.

Q: How much grooming does a Golden's coat need?

A: Plan on heavy shedding all year, with even more coming out during the spring and fall coat changes. Brushing two or three times a week handles most of it, and daily brushing helps while the coat is blowing. Spend a little longer on the chest, the tail, and the feathering behind the legs, since mats show up there first. You'll find more on brushing, bathing, and shedding in our complete guide to Golden Retrievers.

Q: We both commute to work. Can a Golden stay home alone?

A: Goldens want to be with their people, and eight to ten hours alone most days is too much for them without help. A midday visit from a walker or a spot at doggy daycare can fill that gap on long workdays. Short practice absences at home help a Golden learn to settle alone, a little longer each time.
