Golden Retriever Puppies for Sale in Washington

Families looking for Golden Retriever puppies for sale in Washington can reserve a puppy from The Puppy Lodge and have it brought all the way to the Pacific Northwest. Our Goldens are raised in Ohio within a closed network of breeders who work only with Puppy Lodge dogs, and every parent is health and genetically tested before a pairing. Each puppy is vet checked, microchipped, and backed by a written three-year health guarantee.

Washington is one of the farthest states we serve, sitting on the opposite side of the country from our farm. Most families here have their puppy flown in with a flight nanny, and ground delivery by van is also available.

Golden Retriever puppy delivery in Washington

Golden Retriever Delivery to Washington

Once your puppy is reserved, we set up a call to choose how it gets to you. Washington families have three options, and the long distance from Ohio makes the choice matter more here than in most states.

Flight Nanny (Our Recommendation for Washington)

A flight nanny is the best fit for most of Washington. A trained handler flies with your puppy in the cabin, tucked under the seat in a soft carrier, and it never rides in cargo. You meet them at baggage claim, and most trips are finished in a single day with photos and videos sent along the way. Seattle-Tacoma International is the most common choice, and Spokane International works well for families east of the Cascades. Paine Field in Everett, Bellingham International, and Tri-Cities Airport in Pasco are other options depending on routes. Flights are quoted per trip and cost more than ground delivery.

Golden Retrievers are one of our larger breeds, which matters for flying. A puppy has to be at least 8 weeks old and under 20 pounds with its carrier, and it needs a health certificate from a licensed vet. Goldens gain weight quickly, so flying your puppy close to its go-home date is the easiest way to stay under the limit. We'll check your puppy's weight with you before booking.

Home Delivery by Ground

Our climate-controlled van can bring your Golden right to your door anywhere in Washington for around $450. Vans leave Ohio on Tuesday mornings, and the drive to Washington is roughly 33 to 38 hours of road time, so plan on 2 to 3 days depending on the route. Your puppy rides in its own carrier, gets a vet check before the trip, and you'll receive updates while it's on the road. This is a good choice if your puppy is getting too big to fly or you'd rather skip the airport.

Pickup at Our Ohio Farm

You're welcome to pick up your puppy in person at our farm in Fresno, Ohio, by appointment. You can meet the mother, see where the litters are raised, and go over the vaccine records, microchip, and health guarantee with us in person. From Washington this is a long trip, so it usually makes sense only if you're already planning to be in the Midwest or East.

Every puppy goes home with a bag of the food it's been eating and a blanket that carries its mother's scent, no matter which option you choose.

A Golden Retriever Breeder Serving Washington

The Puppy Lodge is owned by the Nisley family, who have raised dogs for more than 13 years. We own every parent dog in our program, and our Golden litters are raised by a small group of breeders near our Ohio farm who follow our health testing and care standards. A vet from Danville Veterinary Clinic visits every week to check the adult dogs and each new litter.

Goldens keep growing until they are 18 to 24 months old, so structure is weighed in every pairing and both parents have hip and elbow evaluations. Our puppies get outside to play every day to build lean muscle, and each one goes through our early neurological stimulation program from day 3 to day 16. There may be Golden breeders closer to Washington, but choosing us means a puppy with tested parents, a three-year guarantee that covers hips and elbows, and a family you can call or text with questions long after it's home.

FAQs Of Washington Families Adopting Golden Retrievers

Q: How much does it cost to get a Golden Retriever puppy to Washington?

A: Golden Retriever puppies start at $1,995, and home delivery by van to Washington is around $450. A flight nanny costs more and is quoted based on the flight, usually into Seattle or Spokane. We go over your delivery options and the total cost on a call after you reserve.

Q: Is a Golden a good fit for the rain on the west side of the state?

A: Goldens handle cool, wet weather well because of their thick, water-resistant double coat. The trade-off is that a wet Golden brings mud and a lot of hair into the house. They shed heavily all year and even more in spring and fall, so plan on brushing two to three times a week and drying the ears after rainy walks or swims to help prevent ear infections.

Q: How much exercise does a Golden Retriever need?

A: Plan on 60 to 90 minutes of activity every day, plus some training or puzzle games to keep their mind busy. Washington has plenty of lakes and trails, and Goldens love to swim and retrieve, so hiking and time at the water are great outlets. Keep hard, high-impact exercise limited until your puppy is done growing to protect its joints.

Q: Can Golden Retriever puppies be left home alone while I work?

A: Goldens are very people focused and don't do well alone for a full workday. If you're gone eight hours or more, a dog walker, midday visit, or doggy daycare is important. We start crate training before your puppy leaves us, which gives you a head start on building up alone time slowly.

Q: Can I visit your farm before I buy?

A: Yes, visits are by appointment, and you can meet the puppy and its mother. Since most Washington families can't make the trip to Ohio, we also offer FaceTime calls so you can see your puppy before you commit. You can learn more about the breed in our complete guide to Golden Retrievers.

Q: Can my Golden Retriever puppy be registered with the AKC?

A: Yes, the Golden Retriever is an AKC recognized breed and a Golden puppy from us can be registered with the American Kennel Club. Registration is available whether your puppy comes to Washington by flight nanny or by van.
