Golden Retriever Puppies for Sale in Ohio

Raised near our family farm in Coshocton County, our Golden Retriever puppies for sale in Ohio are a short trip from almost anywhere in the state. Each puppy comes from health-tested parents and goes home vet checked, microchipped, and current on vaccinations and dewormings, with its own health record.

The farm is in Fresno, about 80 miles east of Columbus. Ohio families can come get their puppy in person or have it brought home for around $250.

Available Golden Retriever Puppies in Ohio

Reserving one of the Goldens below takes a $200 deposit online, and while you can't get that money back, you're free to put it toward a different available puppy. Each listing shows its own price, which begins at $1,995 and varies with color, coat, and gender. If you'd like to pay over time, you can apply for Credova financing.

Since there's no waitlist, a puppy goes to whoever reserves first, and that can happen the same day it's posted. You can claim a pick from an upcoming litter or ask us for a FaceTime call. If you'd rather skip the drive to Fresno, we deliver across Ohio.

Getting Your Golden Retriever Puppy Home in Ohio

All three ways home are open to Ohio families, and we'll settle on one together by phone once your puppy is reserved. However it travels, your Golden will have a bag of its current food and a blanket with its mother's scent for the trip home.

Pickup at Our Fresno Farm

Pickup is what we recommend for Ohio. The drive to Fresno runs up to about four hours from the far corners of the state, and much less from the middle of it. You set an appointment, meet your puppy and its mother, and go over the vaccination records, microchip registration, and health guarantee with us before heading home.

Home Delivery Anywhere in Ohio

Home delivery brings your Golden to your door in a climate-controlled van, driven by a professional pet transport service, for around $250. Delivery vans leave Fresno on Tuesday mornings, and we'll tell you which day to expect your puppy when we talk after you reserve. Your puppy gets a vet checkup before the trip and has a carrier to itself on the way, and you get updates from the road.

Ohio Flight Nanny Delivery

Flying your puppy in is also possible, though it makes less sense this close to the farm. A trained nanny keeps your puppy in the cabin in an airline-approved carrier, never in cargo, and most of these trips wrap up the same day at baggage claim. Cleveland Hopkins (CLE), John Glenn Columbus (CMH), Dayton International (DAY), and Akron-Canton (CAK) all work. Flights cost more than ground delivery and are quoted individually.

For a Golden, the weight rule is the one to watch, since puppy and carrier together have to come in under 20 pounds and Goldens gain weight quickly. Your puppy also has to be at least 8 weeks old with a health certificate from a licensed vet, and it helps to keep your plans loose in case weather pushes the flight back.

Your Local Golden Retriever Puppy Breeder Serving Ohio

We're the Nisleys, a family of nine who have raised dogs for more than 13 years on a five-acre farm in Fresno. Our Golden litters come from a small closed network of kennels near the farm, run by breeders who work with Puppy Lodge dogs only. Every Golden pairing starts with hip and elbow evaluations and genetic testing on both parents. Structure counts in those pairings too, as joint problems run in large breeds like the Golden.

Our puppies start early neurological stimulation on day 3 and continue it through day 16, and crate and potty training begin before go-home. Outdoor play is part of every day, because Goldens keep filling out until 18 to 24 months and need lean muscle to carry that growth. On the health side, a vet from Danville Veterinary Clinic comes weekly and sees every litter more than once. Since we're right here in Ohio, you're welcome to visit by appointment.

FAQs Of Ohio Families Adopting Golden Retrievers

Q: Can we visit the farm before we reserve?

A: Yes. We're about twenty minutes southeast of Millersburg, and visits are by appointment Monday through Saturday between 9 AM and 6 PM. You can meet the puppy you're interested in and its mother, though the father may not be there if we used an outside stud for that litter. Let us know which puppy you'd like to see when you book, and we'll plan the visit around it.

Q: How much does a Golden Retriever shed?

A: Expect Golden hair in your house every month of the year, with the most coming out during the spring and fall blowouts. A good brushing session two or three times a week handles most of it, stepping up to every day while the coat blows out. Give the feathered hair on the legs, chest, and tail the most attention, because that is where mats start. A deshedding tool also helps a lot.

Q: How much exercise will our Golden need?

A: An adult Golden needs 60 to 90 minutes of activity every day, which is far more than a stroll around the neighborhood. Swimming, fetch, hikes, and training games all count, and mental work matters as much as the physical kind. Until your puppy is done growing, keep exercise controlled and avoid repetitive high-impact activity. There's more about raising a Golden at home in our complete guide to Golden Retrievers.

Q: Can a Golden handle our workday schedule?

A: A Golden is a people dog, and eight to ten hours alone each day with no daycare, dog walker, or midday visit tends to lead to separation anxiety. Plan on help during the day, and build alone time slowly with crate practice and toys that keep your puppy busy.

Q: What does the health guarantee cover?

A: We back every Golden with three years of written coverage for genetic and congenital conditions, and hip and elbow problems are part of that. Testing both parents makes many inherited conditions less likely, but no screening can promise a healthy dog for life. Cancer is the larger concern, since Goldens get it more often than most breeds and no testing can rule it out. We can walk you through how we test the parent dogs over the phone.
